Responsibilities in Television and Film Production, in order of strengths:

Composer

Duties include composing, producing, sound design, engineering and mixing music and audio for numerous NASA Television programs. This includes writing and playing original music to be added to NASA programs. Once the music is written, I supervise the entire audio post-production process, including using various applications to mix, arrange and master the music, and finally synchronize it to video. I have proficiency with many software applications, including, Pro-Tools, Cubase, Logic, Reason, Recycle, Live, and Reaktor. Additional platforms include the Waves audio processing suite, including L1, L2, Linear Phase Multiband, and other mastering tools.

Audio Engineer

Responsibility to set up, operate, and supervise audio production for in-studio, in-house, and mobile television productions. Setup includes operation of wireless and lavalier microphones, IFB (interrupt/foldback) materials, and room equalization. Operation includes mixing and monitoring several sources at once, operating Telos and Gentner telephone hybrid modules for multi-facility communication and monitoring audio for video feeds. Supervising duties include setting up boom and lavalier microphones in remote locations for live satellite productions, operating audio and mixing live to television from mobile satellite trucks and operating hybrid phone modules for communication between talent and news operations.

Audio/Visual Supervisor

Manage maintenance and duplication services for the entire NASA Headquarters video archive. This represents an extensive knowledge of NASA TV events and programs over the past 40 years. Duties include tracking of over 3500 videotapes, in both analog and digital formats, sending subject matter to various news stations and production houses, and handling research requests on subject matter definitions, subject availability, an subject location.

Computer Expertise

Mac OS Applications (as mentioned above), including limited experience with AVID and Final Cut Pro video applications. Familiarity with all audio file formats, including MPEG-3, MPEG-4, Ogg-Vorbis, .WAV, .AIFF.

Office Software : MS Word, Firefox.

Education

Bachelor of Fine Arts, School of Radio, Television and Film, University of Maryland College Park, MD, 1993. Minor in Spanish Language studies.

Awards and Achievements

August 2009- Currently in production on the video mix for “Ooh Ooh Ooh,” the second single from the Start To Move release, which will be released on Chikie Records, along with remixes and a music video.

June 2009 – Musical Director/Producer for Start To Move Live Electronic Tour featuring Billboard Recording Artist Jason Antone (Chikie Records). Wrote, produced, engineered and performed songs from Jason’s recently released Start To Move CD in Milwaukee, Chicago, Omaha, Nashville and New York City.

August 2008 – Producer: Start To Move by Jason Antone, wrote, produced, engineered and recorded Jason’s 13-track CD which spawned a music video “To The Limit,” directed by Jeremy Kotin (Sex and the City). It premiered on the MTV Logo Channel in April 2009.

May 2008 – Producer: “Love’s Gonna Lead You Back,” the third Billboard hit by recording artist Jason Antone which reached number 3 on the Billboard Dance Chart, and premiered on the MTV Logo Channel in June 2008.

April 2006 – A video commemorating the anniversary of STS-1 (the first Space Shuttle Flight) featuring my score was presented at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.

January 2003 – “The New Look of NASA TV,” including 30-second opens to three television programs, premiered. I was the composer that scored the music to each of those programs, entitled, “NASA’s Video File,” “The NASA Education File,” and “The NASA Gallery.” These programs are still being aired everyday on NASA TV.

Februrary 2001- A music video for the commemoration of NASA’s 100th Space Shuttle Flight, featuring my score was presented by NASA Administrator Daniel Goldin. It was broadcast both nationally and via the Internet.

April 2000 – A Public Service Group Achievement Award was presented to me by NASA Administrator Daniel Goldin in recognition of excellence in television production during the historic return to space of astronaut and Senator John Glenn.

May 1998 – A music video for the 40th Anniversary of NASA featuring my original score was presented by NASA Administrator Daniel Goldin at the official 40th Anniversary Gala at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.

January 1996 – Emmy Award Nomination for a video commemorating the 100th flight of humans in space, featuring my original score.
