Navy Nuclear Qualified Machinists Mate First Class with eleven years of increasing responsibility in operating and maintaining mechanical systems in support of nuclear power plants. Experience:
Engineering Watch Supervisor: (2007 to Present) Serve aboard the MTS Samuel Rayburn (MTS-635).
· Provide continuous supervision for up to ten personnel including mechanics, electricians, and electronics technicians for the safe and efficient operation of a nuclear power plant.
· Coordinate and oversee all engineering watch standers during reactor plant operations and in a shutdown status. Also provide training to junior personnel and student trainees on nuclear power plant operations with an emphasis on safe operations.
· Collateral duties include serving as Engineering Duty Petty Officer, Training Petty Officer, and Machinery Division Lead Petty Officer.
Engine room Supervisor: (2005 to 2007) Served aboard the MTS Samuel Rayburn (MTS-635).
· Was responsible for the supervision and training of six other nuclear-trained mechanics and up to four student trainees in the operation and maintenance of power plant systems and support components during startup, shutdown, normal operations, and testing of systems.
· Oversaw over 200 planned and corrective maintenance actions of propulsion plant associated systems during both overhaul and operational conditions. Collateral duties included serving as Crew Career Councilor, and Student Mentor.
Chief Machinery Operator: (2001- 2004) Served aboard the USS Harry S Truman (CVN-75).
· Was responsible for the supervision and training of eight man watch team of other nuclear and nonnuclear trained mechanics in the operation and maintenance of power plant systems and support components during startup, shutdown, normal operations, and testing of systems.
· This supervision was performed during two operational deployments, two shipyard availabilities and three periods of intense ships work up cycles.
· Collateral Duties included serving as Assistant Lead Petty Officer, Maintenance Group Supervisor, Work Center Supervisor, and Technical Group Machinery Division Shipyard Liaison.
