HRIS Consultant / Frontier Communications 2010 – present

Manage changes, upgrades and incidents with HR application and users, document system requirements. Monitor production jobs and environment and assist with root cause analysis of errors. Build and run simple to moderately complex database queries. Maintained bulletin/message board web pages. Develop special and production processes to supply data to external HR vendors as needed.

Project Manager HRIS/Labor Relations & Bus Continuity Planning 2006 – 2009

Developed and managed applications and systems, including; labor relations/collective bargaining, Verizon discipline, grievance and arbitration cases, Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Workforce Intervention, corporate mentoring, compensation administration, vendor interfaces for security, accounts payable and employee sales/marketing incentive program.

• Managed the complete development (SDLC) of an on-line system to replace the paper-laden process used for union negotiations. The new system featured a document management component and a Web/database platform to save 2400 man-hours of work during each negotiation cycle.

• Led interdisciplinary team in an effort to expand a Business Continuity Planning system to manage emergency assignments of management personnel during critical union negotiations into an enterprise PeopleSoft HCM, resulting in a streamlined process for maintaining business operations in emergency situations and saving Verizon a potential of millions of dollars and helping to insure that critical operations were uninterrupted.

• Formulated requirements, test plans and implementation enabling Labor Relations and IT to define and implement enhancements to a system used to track disciplines, grievances, arbitration and NLRB cases on Verizon union-represented employees into a data warehouse (Cognos), establishing an easier, more efficient, timely process for Department of Labor inquiries and helped reduce arbitration case load by 30%.

• Developed and implemented a process of security improvements on data sent to vendors for sales referral and public affairs resulting in a smooth transition in corporate systems development which saved 80 hours of vendor charge-back each month.

Project Manager HRIS / Safety, Health & Environment 2003– 2005

Responsible for developing and managing computer applications in the accident/injury, DOT/CDL compliance, environmental, ergonomics, OSHA compliance, safety reporting.

• Led an interdisciplinary team in replacing several disconnected systems with an enterprise-wide solution supporting 90 environmental managers across 45 states. The new system (Domino / WebFocus) was used for compliance with Federal EPA and state regulations avoiding serious fines and penalties. The old environmental tracking systems were closed down saving $220,000 in annual maintenance costs.

• Managed the transition of the DOT/CDL license tracking process from a vendor to an in­house system integrated with PeopleSoft saving approximately $8,000 per month.

Project Manager HRIS / Absence/FMLA & Occupational Health 2001 – 2002

Created and managed systems for absence tracking, FMLA eligibility and compliance, occupational health issues and short and long term disability cases.

• Proposed and implemented solutions and methodology to streamline FMLA eligibility determination and tracking that met requirements in a class-action case saving over $700,000.

• Managed transfer of disability (STD/LTD) data and cases to a new enterprisewide vendor with substantial savings and synergies.

• Ran standard monthly FMLA reports and created ad-hoc queries using MS Access from Lotus/Domino system

Business Analyst HRIS Bell Atlantic Benefit & Absence Systems 1998 – 2000

Managed and planned all internal system work and vendor interfaces for defined benefit, define contributions, health and medical, workers compensation and absence control plans.

• Led efforts to streamline FMLA and disability administration, providing managers with timely and actionable employee absence information and ability to report directly to payroll/time systems, enabling the company to switch to a new vendor with no interruptions in service or claim processing.

• Worked with Benefits and IT in defining extracts and interfaces for a major vendor outsourcing effort in defined benefits and contribution plans. Led efforts on testing and quality assurance for open enrollment and other critical benefit-related functions.

Staff Director / HRIS Report and Analyses 1994 – 1997

Led ad-hoc/on demand reporting group responsible for all HR reporting and inquiries.

• Managed the “on demand” programming staff (White Plain, New York and Boston) and operation that produced over 2,500 reports annually.

• Worked with IT on migrating reporting to PeopleSoft and Cognos platforms to drive ownership and reporting down to end-users saving 120 man-hours per month.

Staff Director / Benefits Systems 1991 – 1994

Created and managed a central employee data repository for all NYNEX subsidiaries.

• Developed and implemented a low-cost solution to consolidate basic employee job and wage information into a single repository for critical records on 200,000+ domestic employees. The central repository was a single resource build from proprietary and vendor payroll feeds (ADP, Ceridian,…etc.) supporting workforce planning and modeling, a stock option program for 90,000 employees, vendor/outsourcing initiatives and benefit compliance testing resulting in the preservation of $200-300MM in qualified plan deductions.
