PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Electrical Design Engineer, Vrettos Pappas Consulting Engineers, Charlotte, NC 2005 – Present
Served as an Electrical Design Engineer accountable for developing electrical blueprints / schematics for new construction projects
and existing up-fits to commercial buildings and banks, retail stores, offices, hotels, restaurants, schools, medical buildings,
residential condos, and multi-family dwellings.
• Planned and coordinated the engineering and design of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems to provide
power to a number of commercial, government, and residential facilities.
• Researched and selected electrical components while ensuring compliance with building codes and project requirements.
• Prepared electrical diagrams, detailed physical layouts, cost estimations, and calculations / studies including distribution power
flow models such as: ampacity, voltage drop, short circuit, load flow, motor start, power factor, grounding, etc.
Electrical Design Engineer, W.B. Moore Electrical Contractor & Engineers, Charlotte, NC 2005
Provided electrical engineering and design support for an electrical contracting / engineering firm. Performed as-built electrical
designs for numerous projects as well as critical area installation. Worked closely with Electricians supporting electrical
infrastructure for Bank of America buildings.
• Prepared complex electrical computations to determine the size, type and number of electronic components needed for projects
such as transformers, circuit breakers, reclosers, disconnects, and lightning arresters.
• Reviewed sag and stress for specifications of wire and cables as well as planned the layout of electrical lines and cables.
• Identified and resolved electrical distribution problems such as determining the height, location, spacing, guying requirements,
and insulation level of distribution facilities.
Automation Engineer, Transbotics, Inc., Charlotte, NC 2004
Played key role in developing and implementing engineering designs for a firm providing customized, automated solutions.
Participated in design sessions to create robotic solutions that met the needs of customers.
• Improved quality of AGV components by conducting extensive quality control testing of assembled AGVs prior to shipment to
customers.
• Oversaw requirements gathering, product engineering and development, testing requirements, and documentation to design,
assemble, and deploy robotic systems.
Electrical Engineer (Intern), University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Charlotte, NC 2001 – 2003
Gained valuable knowledge and experience working at William States Lee, College of Engineering. Analyzed and simulated all
circuits in support of projects listed above.
• Led numerous projects that included designing and building a metal detector, fabricating a mobile phone antenna, and
constructing a two-way intercom.
• Directed efforts to design a DSB-SC communication system in MATLAB as well as a wireless remote control for PCs.
Machine Operator, Solectron, Inc., Charlotte, Charlotte, NC 1998 – 1999
Operated and maintained a Fuji assembly machine for firm providing electronics manufacturing and integrated supply chain
services. Inspected parts to ensure minimal defects.
