PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Provide focused leadership from initial concept through product introduction, creating a
business plan and start-up operations. Perform extensive market surveys and technology
audits; the genesis of detailed system requirements and in-depth design of all systems
components. Coordinate all engineering including outsourced mechanical and circuit designs.
Conduct system proof of concept for stereo pedestrian and vehicle sensors.
Create and implement the optimization of all real time embedded machine vision detection
algorithms for Texas Instruments DM6437 digital signal processor. Develop and implement
simple and efficient methods to calibrate stereo sensor cameras and develop simulation of
sensor on PC platform while executing under MS-Visual Studio.
Select local PCB manufacturers and component manufacturers in China. Conduct pricing
negotiations which included service and repairs. Create and manage an operating budget
and work closely with legal staff in preparing and negotiating corporate agreements.
* Lead company to initial product introduction 17 months after company startup
including build of 50 sensors with official software release.

First engineer hired to extract and commercialize technology from feasibility studies at
University of Minnesota. “Hands on” manage and plan all engineering efforts to create family
of intelligent video products to satisfy all global customer needs in the transportation and
security markets. Travel on a worldwide basis to meet with end customers, supply chain,
distributors and technology partners to: support existing products, define and prioritize new
products and features and coordinate manufacturing and offshore developments.
Direct the revamping of product line to replace an obsolete processor with the TI DaVinci DSP
and the integration of Ethernet over power line technology for significant reduction in cost,
simplify installation and enable high bandwidth streaming video.
* Proposed, managed and oversaw several multi-million dollar projects funded by federal,
state, county and local agencies for freeways, intersections and tunnels.
