EXPERIENCE
Emerson Network Power - Liebert, Delaware, OH
Software Design Engineer, June 2010 - present
Served as member of firmware design team for large UPS systems. Performed UPS testing in
test bays. Employed Hardware-in-Loop (HIL) simulation via MATLAB & Simulink for testing
code. Developed code for more accurate algorithm to predict UPS battery life remaining.
Responsible for all code development for new UPS Temperature Interface Board (TIB) featuring
TI Stellaris uController. TIB main peripherals included ADC, CAN, LED’s, UART (for
HyperTerminal serial communication & serial flash programming application), and bootloader.
Actively involved in full life design cycle, from requirement definition through design,
prototyping, proof of concept, testing, and interface implementation. Interfaced with team in
weekly meetings discussing project progression. Authored comprehensive code documentation
with both extensive code comments and creation of functional code diagram in Visio. Tracked
time spent on various tasks in Rally Project Management software and kept thorough record of
daily progress for reference. Recently chosen to bridge incompatibility gap between current rack
PDU software and that of an acquired business for use in next-generation product.
