Project Description Voice Switching System Module(VXSM) is a voice module in the MGX8850 Multiservice switch, that connects to PBXs, key systems or central offices digital circuits using channelized OC-3/T1/E1 interfaces and converts the TDM bit streams into ATM cells for carriage over ATM or IP packet networks. The design of the card is capable of supporting

VoIP & VoATM for voice transport and can perform voice compression and echo cancellation on voice.

A complete MGX node is equipped with:

VXSM card: Media Gateway

AXSM or RPM: to route the ATM or IP traffic out of the Node

PXM: the controller card

Environment Platform: SUN SOLARIS (UNIX), VxWorks

Language: TCL

Protocols: MEGACO, MGCP & T.38
