Project Description:

The Chase Card Core system is made up of IBM mainframe and TANDEM based

applications that are responsible for the core processing elements for the

credit card business.

Some key functions include:

. Cardholder - Supporting both CICS and MQ series based customer service

channels that are leveraged by our Internet, VRU, customer service, and

collections department to service our cardholders with real time data.

. Authorizations - ensuring that new transactions issued by internal or

external merchants can be properly decisioned within an appropriate

timeframe. This application resides primarily on a Tandem platform and

makes external calls to IBM mainframe applications for supporting data

and also interfaces real time with MasterCard and Visa.

. Marketing - critical functions include processing of new purchase

transactions, payments, balance transfers, performing interest accruals

and rewards points accruals for cardholder statements, and the generation

of critical business interfaces to support our internal and external

partners. This application is primarily an IBM mainframe based COBOL

application with supporting DB2, IMS, and VSAM data environments.

. Financial Control System (FCS) - This function is responsible for the

daily settlement of monies exchanged within JP Morgan Chase, our

association partners (Visa & MasterCard), and external partners. This

application is approximately 80% IBM mainframe assembler code.

During the pre In sourcing period, we expect the Supplier to provide

support in migration preparation activities that include, but are not

limited to: system documentation evaluation and creation, IBM mainframe and

TANDEM application development, and knowledge transfer activities. We

expect the Supplier to be able to provide support in all of these areas.

During the post In sourcing period, we expect the Supplier to be able to

provide ongoing development, production support, and QA services in each

of the application areas listed above.
