Analyzed High-speed blow down bearing compartment
Predicted the air/oil flow phenomena and related heat transfer processes in bearing chambers by simulating in FLUENT. The transient two-phase flow analysis was carried out by considering air as primary phase and oil as secondary phase. The pressure drops across the seals are compared with experimental measurements.
Analyzed PW2000 engine scavenge port in the lubrication system
Predicted the pressure drop across the scavenge port for the different location in the bearing chamber by simulating in FLUENT. The two-phase flow analysis was carried out by writing UDF to implement the annular mist flow in the scavenge port. From the simulation results analytical correlations were derived. The simulation results were compared with the experimental measurements.
Analyzed oil film disintegration mechanism at the rim of rotating disk. The Transient analysis was carried out by injecting oil in different radial locations. From the analysis, various disintegration modes relevant to different particle size and different rotor speed are predicted and compared with the experimental measurements.

Flow field analysis of Liquid Ramjet Engine using FLUENT – DRDL, Hyderabad: Predicted various strong re-circulation zone in the dome region of the combustor for non reacting case and parametric analysis carried out to find out particle size injection and mixing ratio.
CFD simulation on various nose configuration of reentry vehicle using FLUENT – VSSC, Trivandrum: Predicted the boundary layer growth and bow shock occurrence and obtained drag friction and skin friction coefficient for various nose configurations.
Two phase flow simulation of horizontal tube condenser with twisted tap inserts – DST, New Delhi: Wrote UDF for two phase flow.
