Senior Project Manager

September 2004 – Present

• Performed specific construction and engineering Project Management tasks including site acquisition, project scheduling, assigned task to resources, negotiated the terms and conditions for lease agreements, negotiated pricing and terms with all sub-contractors, generated the statement of work document, performed pre-construction and final site walks, completed the site application, arranged RFI studies, review and sign-off of A&E drawing package, obtained all permits, dealt with all change orders, system acceptance testing and sign-off, and provided upper management with weekly status reports for all activities.

• Negotiated pricing for and obtained all approvals for the Purchase Orders placed with the vendors involved with the project including the purchase of the hardware and services from Harris Corporation, Rohde & Schwarz, American Tower, Richland Tower, Electronic Research Incorporated, Dielectric, AT&T (for fiber and DSL backhaul circuits) Dragon Wave, and Exalt, etc.

• Managed the hardware and software development project for the QAM351 set-top-box for deployment in our Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) locations throughout the United States.

• Led the project kick-off and weekly status update meetings to discuss all project issues including the project schedule, design goals, budget, product quality measurement criteria, and to track the progress of all assigned project task.

• Generated the project schedule using MS Project based on the product design goals.

• Incorporated Six Sigma lean manufacturing processes to improve manufacturing processes and eliminate defects as the basis for the mass production of the product.

Satellite Broadcast Engineer

February 1996 – July 1999

• Performed installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of video and satellite broadcast equipment including traveling wave tube amplifiers (TWT’s), klystron tube amplifiers, up/down converters, video exciters, video distribution amplifiers, patch panels, servers, LNA protection switches, and video standards converters (NTSC/PAL/SECAM).

• Operated the Network Operations Center where I configured satellite antennas and baseband equipment to perform satellite uplinks and downlinks for the CNN News Desk.

• Performed video and audio quality of service (QoS) monitoring for all Turner Networks including fiber optic, T1 and satellite communication links.

• Maintained the trouble ticketing system and entered trouble tickets, performed system backups, escalated problems for immediate resolution and closed tickets.

• Operated test equipment such as spectrum analyzer, power meter, signal generator, vectorscope, oscilloscope and volt-ohm meter to troubleshoot and test a wide variety of video broadcast equipment.

• Conducted other assigned duties such as the set up, operation and maintenance of a portable fly away earth station for Satellite News Gathering (SNG) activities.

• Managed global deployments of multi-million dollar contracts through the entire project management life-cycle; meeting scope, time, budget and quality constraints.

• Project managed the launch of TDMA / VSAT satellite based communication products and services and provided overall product life-cycle management, product development, business management, vendor relations and partner management.

• Performed on-site technical support for up to six weeks for both domestic and international enterprise customers such as Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Days Inns, Prudential Bache Securities, Civil Aviation Administration of China (Beijing, China), Telmex (Mexico City), Citra Sari Makmur (Jakarta, Indonesia) and Banco Ganadero (Bogota, Columbia).

• Assisted in the design, installation and acceptance testing of Ku-band satellite earth stations and remote VSAT terminals for domestic and international customers.

• Performed all duties required in the Network Operations Center (NOC) for the shared satellite earth station including QoS monitoring, configuration and activation of SDLC and X.25 protocol based customer equipment attached to our satellite modem, trouble ticket generation using Siebel and complete end-to-end problem troubleshooting and resolution.
