PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

ROCKWELL COLLINS, Cedar Rapids, IA 1992 - 2011

Principal Manager, Program Management, Government Systems 2008 - 2011

Overall responsibility for the Family of Beyond Line-of-Sight Terminals (FAB-T) development and production program. FAB-T is a US Air Force program for a military transformational, protected communications satellite terminal. Included profit & loss responsibility, pursuit and bid activity, supervisory responsibility, and team leadership. Successfully managed interface to prime customer Boeing and US Air Force.

• Grew System Design and Development program to over $250M in sales with an additional $400M in production potential.

• Led bid and proposal effort for $350M production program to Boeing.

• Increased system test productivity by encouraging new processes less dependent on hardware.

• Convinced customer to use expanded test capability, increasing sales an additional $12M.

Principal Program Manager, Government Systems 2004 - 2008

Program management of the FAB-T System Design and Development program. Responsible for managing the day to day execution which included several major suppliers and significant interface with the prime customer.

• Grew System Design and Development program from $10M to $150M.

• 2007 Chairman’s Team Award Finalist for taking a “lost program” and growing it to $150M.

• Developed excellent working relationship with Boeing from VP to engineering levels.

Principal Strategic Development Manger, Commercial Systems 1998 - 2004

Responsible for Strategic Development activities for the Commercial Systems market area. Primary focus on information solutions for existing markets.

• Identified and initiated an opportunity for Rockwell Collins associated with the Transportation Security Act and the call for aircraft video surveillance and cabin alerting.

• Visited key airlines and OEMs worldwide to capture requirements. Met with regulatory and government officials to validate concept and identify potential regulatory issues. Won trial programs with United Airlines and Continental Airlines.

• Worked with Business Communications to develop a comprehensive communications plan, including press releases and international exposure, including NBC News & New York Times.

• Demonstrated leadership by presenting at various security conferences.

• Directed development of first class demonstration material for video security systems.

• Completed a study on leveraging Rockwell Collins core technologies to government owned airports and recommending that it was too fragmented of a market to pursue.

Principal Program Manager, Commercial Systems 1992 - 1997

Program management for a Maintenance Access Terminal (MAT) on the new Boeing 777 aircraft. Responsible for managing the day to day execution which included several major software suppliers, cost reductions, and interface with the customer Boeing.

• Drove company commitment for the first Rockwell Collins cockpit compliant LCD display terminal, allowing for future LCD display technology that would be cockpit compliant.
