CAREER OBJECTIVE: Mechanical Engineer

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

Extensive modeling and simulation experience in Computational Fluidic Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Strength lies in modeling of fluid flow, heat transfer, multi-physics analysis and numerical calculations. Expert at analyzing and solving the most complex of problems.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Research Associate, Mechanical Engineering Department, Ohio State Univ., Columbus, OH, 2003-2009

• Developed an in-house FORTRAN program to investigate the coupling physics in micro/nanofluidic systems, including electrokinetics, fluid dynamics, mass and heat transfer.

• Design and analyze BioMEMS sensors for rapid DNA detection and sequence. Modeling the micro/Nanoscale flows, transport of ions and biological entities using both in-house program and COMSOL.

• Key team member on the development of an implantable artificial kidney using nanopore membrane. Analysis based on CFD and FEA simulations has optimized the device design and substantially reduced the experimental workload and workload.

• Received 2009 Distinguished Graduate Student Award for excellence in graduate research.

Research Engineer, HVAC Laboratory, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, 2001-2003

• Design and development of Steam Injector, a device used as the key-exchange component in domestic water heating systems, utilizing FEA, CFD, and other CAE tools

• Perform numerical calculations to investigate the complex flow and heat transfer phenomena inside the mixing chamber of the Steam Injector.

• Develop, maintain, and execute product test to evaluate the performance and heat exchange effectiveness of the device

• Testing and installation of Steam Injectors in the heating systems of the 301 Hospital in Beijing China. The operation of the Steam Injectors has reduced the cost in hot water supply by 30%.

• Joint inventor of two filed patents on the Steam Injector project.
