Summary of Position
MGA Research is an 3rd party test lab for the automotive industry, which offers the ability for several companies to test their product without any bias that would be associated with 1st party testing. It was my responsibility to conduct shaker tests in a quiet room and do both subjective and objective evaluations as each customer required, help operate the Electro-dynamic shaker department with a senior engineer. This included interpreting customer test specifications, proposing fixture designs, setting up tests, running the tests, and doing maintenance and repair on the shaker equipment. Afterwards a detailed report would be written outlining the procedure used, with the intent of being able to perform the test again entirely from the report.
Testing accomplished
-NVH Testing and Analysis with Head Acoustics Artemis 9.0 software and SSQ Tool
-Modal Hammer Testing, Hot Gas Testing, Temperature Chamber Testing
Duties
-Read new test specifications and perform tests accordingly
-Experience with GM, Ford, Mazda, Nissan, and Chrysler Test specifications
-ED Shaker vibration controllers familiar with MB Systems, DataPhysics and Vibration Research.
-Operate, repair and maintain ED Shaker equipment.
-Develop equations for testing (Propane usage, energy usage, cost benefit analysis...)
-Communicate effectively with technicians and customers.
-Write detailed test reports outlining testing procedures used
-Quoting projects
