OBJECTIVE: To work with a company where my CAD experience, prototype engineering, project management skills, technical problem solving, creative design abilities and customer interaction will add value.
QUALIFICATIONS: An A.A.S. in Industrial Model Making provided the foundation from which my experience in AutoCAD and the display/prototype design field is built upon. My ability to create AutoCAD drawings accurately and quickly is the result of working several years in the conceptual, mechanical and architectural disciplines. I have over ten years experience dealing one on one with clients and I've worked hard at successfully assisting them with their unique concerns and providing them with a comfortable discussion environment. Additionally, I have extensive time communicating with: engineers, architects, project managers, fabricators, and designers. Some work involved the project at hand, while others were seeking conceptual design input for multiple assignments. One of my strongest skills is my ability to visualize, draw, and create what others clearly envision but have great difficulty explaining. My diverse experience has demanded I possess integrity, ability, and dedication. My strong “hands-on” mechanical background has been an asset throughout my career as well as my ability to learn new tasks quickly.
EDUCATION
2011 Intermediate AutoCAD-3D student, Lanier Technical College

RECENT EMPLOYMENT
May-08 – Apr-11 CAD Department Manager-AutoCAD Drafter/Designer Southern Nights, Inc. (Employee) Headed up CAD department of a specialty architectural lighting design company. I created new AutoCAD drawings from hand drawn, or manually notated prints of complex lighting designs. For new customers plans were created utilizing Google Earth, capturing images and importing into AutoCAD. Maintained drawing log of all customer properties, fixtures, and proposal designs. Provided material lists of: electrical wiring lengths, PVC conduit lengths/schedule, fixture brackets, sq. footage of pavers and aggregate, and light pole tubing. Final drawings were accurate site plans including: all lighting fixture symbols, structures, dimensions, tree & flora identification, fixture and custom hardware details, photometric plan, legend and full title block. Was responsible for every duty associated with running a CAD department including: processing new clients, creating & maintaining blocks & symbol library, plotting drawings to a large format 42” HP DesignJet, maintaining inkjet plotter, updating & maintaining PC workstation, drivers and hardware advisement. Very familiar with PC hardware, several desktop-publishing programs, word processor programs, creative-design-manipulation software, imaging/illustrating software and many standard PC utility programs. The largest project worked on involved nearly all of the exterior lighting on Sea Island, GA.
Software experience: AutoCAD 2011 and earlier, SketchUp, Microsoft products, CorelDraw and Adobe. Have limited experience with: Inventor 10, Revit, 3DVIA. Very knowledgeable of Windows OS’: XP Pro, Windows 7 Pro.
Prior work history was focused on my ability to design/draft proficiently with AutoCAD as engineer in creating prototypes. Extensive experience generating CAD drawings optimized for the cutting of parts on a CO2 laser cutter. I became an expert in fabricating: highly detailed prototypes, fixtures, displays/furnishings, and museum quality conceptual models. Managed employees in: construction techniques, time efficiency, problem solving and shop safety. I am a very capable: mechanic, inventor, woodworker and fabricator. I own most cabinet making shop equipment, a CNC CO2 laser cutter, and HVLP spray equipment. I have several years experience spraying: lacquer, base coat/clear coat, urethanes and acrylics.
2007-2008 AutoCAD Detailer/Designer and Fabricator JHB Associates, Inc. (Contractor-employee)
Worked with AutoCAD as a Detailer and Fabrication Designer for a Marketing Environment Design company. Detailed/Drafted, designed and developed the methods/techniques for the construction of resort sales center’s: exhibit displays, furnishings, aluminum framework, cabinetry, millwork and large graphic supports. Utilized AutoCAD in creating: all shop drawings, individual components, and conceptual designs. Discussed end product expectations with Conceptual Rendering Manager and company President. In addition to providing the AutoCAD drawings for review and fabrication shop drawings, I constructed, prepped and spray finished display furnishings as well as installed at client locations. My fabrication of all the display furnishings started with the cutting of raw materials and entailed all sanding, layout and assembly prior to spray finishing. Through my physical fabrication of the components I gained important knowledge and experience of exhibit displays.
2001-2007 AutoCAD Designer/Architectural Model Maker Jolly Development, Inc. (Contractor)
I completed all AutoCAD work of redrawing architect's drawings in order to fabricate complex scale models. Focus was on residential projects including: single family de-tached, town home communities, and mid-rise condominiums. Built exhibit models for a specialized chemical process equipment/enclosed structure manufacturer. Interpreted architect's CAD files to redesign and draft structure facades with extreme detail in order to be cut and scored on CNC laser cutter. The detailed review of architect’s drawings required to draft and construct high end scale models led me to finding errors of both architects and engineers. This resulted in major savings for the developer and prevented large construction site errors and rebuilds. Cut and assembled all parts, painted, finished and affixed components to accurately constructed topography. This experience gave me an even stronger understanding of architectural drawings and blueprints. I managed all operations of a 4 to 5 man small business. Other work included an office building's entry signage displays, impact logos, support framework, illumination and graphics.
1996-2011 Project Manager/AutoCAD Design Engineer Real Model Inc. (Employee-contractor)
Created highly detailed scale models and custom signage for architects, engineers, and developers using AutoCAD. I logged over 1000 hours designing/detailing/drafting: architectural components and industrial prototype elements with AutoCAD. As Project and Shop Manager my duties included all areas of managing a 5-7 employee business including: sales, all client interaction, project estimates, formal proposals and directing employee task/time schedules. I completed every process from start to finish in CAD drafting and building detailed scale models of: custom architectural structures, high rise towers-condominiums, single-family town homes, utility structures, prototypes, and topography. Improved employee morale, welcomed employee input of alternative construction methods and encouraged questions regarding scale model building process. Advanced in the use of all standard power tools as well as working closely with: display, scale model, cabinetry and prototype construction materials.
