Legislative Staff

Working for Assemblyman Marc W. Butler Assemblyman 117th Legislative District as a member of his legislative staff in the Herkimer District office. Responsibilities include maintaining the Assemblyman‘s schedule, maintaining correspondence with constituents. Perform Casework for constituents ranging from handling a variety of issues ranging from very simple local issues to cases including disability claims, sex offenses, and all types of cases in-between. Occasionally representing the assemblyman at various public appearances on behalf of the assemblyman. Responsibilities include all coordination of mailings, press releases for the district which covers Herkimer, Otsego, and Fulton counties. Aid the assemblyman in doing research on legislation and important local issues.

Formed a Partnership to purchase and renovate a restaurant located in Cambridge, N.Y., named SARDO‘s American Grill & Sports Bar, which opened in December of 2004. Acting as Vice President and Director of Marketing for a start-up company involved in the design, manufacture, and sales of a patented newly developed golf putter characterized by having a convex face. Was responsible for P&L of the company along with the President of the company. Personally involved with the engineering and design of new products. Set up the worldwide distribution along with off-shore manufacturing and distribution. Developed the company web-site, to allow for e-commerce, and introduction of new products. Acting as a manufacturer‘s representative for 12 major electronic manufacturers was responsible for covering eastern New York state for all technical sales of custom engineered electronic devices. Established major accounts from zero-based business to over 5 million dollar accounts.

1991-1994 Martin Marietta Corporation Utica, N. Y. Aerospace Systems

Group Leader/ Engineering Lab & Materials Operations (ELMO)

Established a multifunctional organization to facilitate fabrication of all developmental programs risk reduction hardware. Maintained scheduling and financial data for all programs. Established and maintained close working relationships with blanket PO vendors to support quick turn cycle requirements. Selected and negotiated blanket contracts for wire wrapping and cable harness fabrication services. Administered sourcing volume of development programs in excess of 1.5 million dollars. Successfully performed Engineering Laboratory downsizing and consolidation from 135,000 sq. ft. to 40,000 sq. ft. Supported major proposal review and bid efforts for the department. Documented savings of 300 K for 1991 were attributable to the sourcing of various engineering commodities. Served on the department‘s Environmental Health & Safety Council. Responsible for lab safety programs along with both Internal and External audits. Acted as focal point for internal OSHA Audit in pursuit of STAR program.

Group Leader/ Standards & Materials & Processes

Was an individual contributor in the General Electric Aerospace (GEA) Engineering Productivity Improvement Program (EPIP). Served concurrently on the EPIP sub-council for the selection of a Mechanical Design CAD software tool for GEA. Was a major contributor to the EPIP PWB/PWA Standard Release Package , coordinated through the GEA Design Support Center in Valley Forge, Pa. Member of the AESD EPIP site Implementation Team. Continued as Engineering focal point for all printed circuit related issues for the entire division Acted as Sub-council Chairman for Cable & Wiring Harness Standard Release Package. Conducted major review of Aerospace Operations Division (AOD) in preparation of major outsourcing efforts, and for producibility concerns. Developed various deviation and waiver documents dealing with PWB‘s.

Specialist/ Design Assurance & Standards

Responsible for the maintenance of all design and drafting related Printed wiring board standards for AESD. These included design standards for all types of PWB‘s including flexible cables. Responsibilities included the coordination of all materials specifications used within the division. Actively established baseline requirement relating to the implementation of the WS6536 Naval Weapons Specification. Acted as Division consultant for all printed wiring board related issues from design through fabrication and assembly. Assigned as AESD‘s representative to the IPC Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits) Continued as technical liaison for Engineering.

1985-1988 General Electric Co. Utica, N. Y.

Specialist/ Printed Circuit Development

Became the Engineering liaison for both internal and external sourcing activities for Utica Engineering. Monitored vendor activity, along with cost control of 1 million dollars of throughput. Integrated sub-systems for various programs, ERR, PWA, F111 Update, Gunship. Expanded management role, while updating, inventory and documentation of processes used in the Engineering Development Laboratory. Developed procurement documents for external sources. Was a member of the division procurement team, participated in the surveying of potential suppliers to the Aerospace Group. Provided technical liaison for a special flex cable assembly with selected vendor.

1982-1985 General Electric Co. Utica, N. Y.

Planner/Scheduler

This position entailed the operation and control of the Engineering Development Lab. All engineering prototyping was accomplished through this function. Responsibilities included the oversight of approximately 35 personnel in both the printed wiring fabrication area, and the metal parts manufacturing area. While in this position took lead position to obtain military certification for the lab, to Mil-P - 55110 D , for all types I, II, III. Developed specialized vapor phase soldering techniques, along with exploration of new material blends for PWB‘s.

1981-1982 General Electric Co. Utica, N. Y.

Specialist/ Planning & Methods

Responsibilities for this position included the development of all floor planning for the manufacture of printed wiring boards through the manufacturing process. Planning included the complete process flow from artwork tool generation to developing lamination, drilling, routing and plating information for operator use. This was accomplished on numerous major military programs, such as E2C, F111, P3C,Voyager, MJS (Mars, Jupiter, Saturn); these programs were manufactured for the Jet Propulsion Lab. Co-Developed the use of plasma etching system for the etchback of MLB‘s. Was a major contributor to the implementation of Quality Circles, became a certified Quality Circle Facilitator through training at GE Major Appliance Division, Louisville, Ky.

1977-1981 General Electric Co. Utica, N. Y.

Senior Manufacturing Technician

Assigned to work on Advanced Substrate printed wiring boards to be used for surface mount technology assemblies. Responsible for the development effort surrounding use of Aramid Epoxy PWB‘s. While on assignment participated in the development of an innovative flexible cable for use on the IRST program. Continued on Special assignment to the Plated Wire Memory Lab from pre-production phase of the program to the production phase of the program. Additional duties during this period were the chemical process control of both the metal parts manufacturing and the printed circuit board areas performing the "wet" chemical analysis and process control.

1976-1977 General Electric Co. Utica, N. Y.

Chemical Process Control Technician

Responsibilities of this position centered on a variety of printed wiring board bonding techniques. The boards using this new technology were used on the F111 Hird Pave Tack radar system. Assigned to Special Assignment working in the Plated Wire Memory Lab, responsible for process control, documentation and operation of the Plated Wire memory line.
