Sr. EH&S Manager – Texas

Responsible for safety and health of 10,000+ employees in DFW and West Texas Region.

Handle safety program development and training for employees in the West Texas region. Programs include Hazard Communication, PPE, Hearing Conservation, Ergonomics, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Protection and Prevention, Confined Space Entry, Manhole Safety, Excavation & Trenching and Indoor Air Quality.

Conduct management safety & environment reviews within every business unit of AT&T based upon accident/injury/motor vehicle cases each year.

Conduct random safety observations each month within every business unit, focusing on high hazard jobs and areas.

Conduct Ergonomic evaluations and training. Generate proposals for reducing Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSD) cases.

Audit company drivers with Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to ensure compliance with DOT regulations, including medical certification requirements. Also review defensive driving program for all company vehicle drivers in territory and do on-the-job defensive driving reviews.

Investigate all injuries, illnesses and accidents in our Outside Plant organizations, Retail Stores, Call Centers, Network Operations and Administrative offices. Offer suggestions and travel to location if necessary to abate hazard or train personnel.

Conduct Indoor Air Quality surveys and conduct applicable testing.

Acted as liaison in the field for any hazardous waste issues and helped managers obtain proper paperwork for shipping hazardous waste, assist in finding approved vendors for disposal and manage any universal waste at our locations in West Texas.

Conduct Petroleum Storage Tank (PST) inspections at locations containing both Underground Storage Tanks (UST’s) and Above Ground Storage Tanks (AST’s). Audit SPCC plans and other related RCRA regulations.

Handle any OSHA or other regulatory agency complaint.

Developed new safety programs for the facility and trained 150+ employees in Hazard Communication, Emergency Action Plan, DOT Compliance, Fire Protection and Prevention, Hazardous Materials Shipping, Respiratory Protection, Personal Protective Equipment, Lockout/Tagout, First Aid/CPR and Machine Guarding Safety.

Handled all environmental issues such as writing the Air Permit for the facility, Storm Water Pollution Plan (SWPP) and Chemical Inventory.
