Cable Advertising Systems (CAS) was one of the 1st companies in the United States to develop a business plan to sell local 30 and 60 second commercials for local Cable Companies across the country. The headquarters were based in Austin, Texas and was affiliated with Governor John Connally Group, and his family.

My responsibilities included working directly with president of sales and production, Mr. George Little. CAS maintained 14 production facilities in the US. Running the commercial run logs, review and approve runtime contracts for each client. I was promoted to territory outside sales after 1 year.

Sales Rep for Commercial Airtime, Production, PSA productions, duties included contract negotiation for each project. Cold calling on local retailers, schedule production, develop scripts, shot list and talent for each 30-60 second spot. I implemented a public relations program that included promoting each CAS city thru their Chamber of Commerce committees.

I developed new contract strategy for CAS to establish long term agency clients and build profit centers including political agents, independent production and record company talent.

I created strategies for an independent credit and collections department within the corporate headquarters in Austin, Texas. I hired a 3 person team to report to the CFO for different regions of the CAS companies.

I was offered a position with one of our largest vendors Commercial Video Systems and I left in 1987 to pursue a career in production and broadcast television integration.
