Technical Project Lead, Infrared (IR) Motion Detection Project Summer 2008
Electrical Engineering, University of South Florida. Mentor: Dr. Paris Wiley, P. E.
Designed a pyro-electric crystal based motion detector based on pre-set parameters.
Simulated and validated design to satisfy motion detection requirements of 5 - 15 feet.
Project management and component acquisition based on requirements and deliverables.
Professional & Academic Projects
Designed and implemented a 50W Class AB Power Amplifier and a Power Supply for the device. Observed enhanced behavior resulting in an output amplification of up to 60W.
Designed, simulated and validated a pyro-electric crystal based Motion Detector to satisfy motion detection requirements of 5 - 15 feet.
Created a matching circuit comprised of a quarter-wave, microstrip matching-section, a lumped element (surface mount) resistor, and an RF short with a center frequency of 2.0 GHz.
Designed and assembled RF circuits, including Low-pass Filters (LPF), Highpass Filters (HPF), Bandpass Filters (BPF), Notch Filters and Mixers. Observed and gained an understanding of parasitic effects and performance principles of various RF circuits.
Synthesized, simulated, and assembled a bench-top antenna system that was preconfigured to receive a certain signal and up/down converted it to receive a designated signal.
