OBJECTIVE:
I am looking for a challenging career which explores the relationships between people and their direct environment. I have worked in industries that have required a deep technical understanding of the working environment. My experience includes responsibility for making sure that smaller oil pumps are of the highest quality and working standards; replacing, rebuilding and testing of all broken or damaged parts before re-assembling rod pumps to ensure that all specifications have been met. In the summer of 2008 I worked for a geotechnical firm in which I was in the field ensuring that all engineering specifications were met and that the construction materials used were of good quality. I was required to file the necessary reports and paperwork for all field tests (construction materials, soil density/moisture) and related testing I performed in the laboratory. I ensured that compliance of the engineer’s specifications and layouts of construction sites were met, while supervising and warranting that all necessary procedures had been completed. I know that with my job experience I understand the amount of work and time it takes to design, repair, and test in different work conditions to ensure all company standards have been upheld. I am a very fast learner and pay close attention to details, fully understanding that necessary steps must be taken to ensure a good quality job. I know that with my knowledgeable background and experience, that I will be an asset to your company.
As of May 2009, I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, receiving my Bachelors Degree in Earth Sciences with a minor in Geological Sciences. I have had a great interest in the environmental industry for the past several years and feel that this is something that I can really devote my attention and energy into, and fully get behind. My coursework at the University of Texas has given me the basic understanding of many of the environmental issues our state faces at this time. As stated, I feel that I have the solid foundation of knowledge that will allow me to explore my full potential if given the opportunity by your company. I thank you for your time and will gladly provide any additional information necessary. I hope to hear from you in the near future.
