WORK EXPERIENCE

Research Intern at Indian Institute Of Technology (IIT Mumbai) May ‘10 - Aug ‘10

• Successfully implemented and demonstrated Encoding/Decoding of recorded sound file using Bose Chaudhari Hocquenghem (BCH) Error Correction Codes.

• Encoding was carried out using Systematic BCH encoding technique and noise was added to signal.

• Erroneous signal was then decoded using Berlekamp-Massey Algorithm to recover Original information signal.

• The project was implemented in C programming language and ported to Ti-C55x DSP, where the performance for small/medium block-lengths of the codes was demonstrated.

• The program was extensively tested for errors and performance.

Customer Service Student Representative at USC University Housing Aug ‘10 – May ‘11

• First line of contact over the phone on behalf of the Housing Services and Maintenance office.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

WCDMA Transmitter simulation on MATLAB Dec ‘10

• Built a transmitter for the WCDMA uplink that implements the Dedicated Physical Data Channel (DPDCH) and Dedicated Physical Control Channel (DPCCH) and supports both single and multicode transmission via OVSF codes and scrambling sequences.

• Analyzed waveform performance with a Class AB gallium nitride (GaN) power amplifier for different drive levels.

• Referred 3GPP technical specifications manual for WCDMA signal code allocation, excess bandwidth etc.

DTV & WCDMA Receiver simulations with real data signals on MATLAB Nov ‘10

• Built receivers for both Digital Television & Wideband Code Division Multiple Access data signals.

• Data was measured at Quantum Dimension’s work facility using the GNU Radio software platform.

• Referred ATSC & 3GPP technical specifications manual for DTV & WCDMA signal.

• Data consisted of baseband I/Q samples for one second of data.

Digital Communication System Simulation in MATLAB Oct ‘10

• Simulated a digital communication system in Matlab consisting of the transmitter, receiver, and AWGN channel.

• Generated results for BPSK, QPSK and 8-PSK waveforms and plotted BER curves.

Low Noise Amplifier Design Apr ‘10

• Developed multiband variable gain LNA using 180nm CMOS technology on Cadence.

• LNA had a selectable gain of 5, 10, 15, or 20dB.

• Selectable frequency of 1.5, 2.0, or 3.0GHz

• Noise figure close to 3dB while drawing 32mA from a 2.5V supply.

CMOS Op-amp Design Nov ‘10

• Designed a Low voltage, Low power, High speed, High gain CMOS operational amplifier in IBM 90nm technology.

• Design project involved implementation of Independent Bias current generator, Bias generator interface & 2 stage Folded Cascode op-amp.

RF Frequency Comb Filter Design Nov ‘10

• Designed a comb filter with notch frequencies 900Mhz, 1.6Ghz & 2.25Ghz.

• Filter was designed such that attenuation at each notch was at least 40db with respect to passband.

• Inductors & Capacitors were substituted with practical model used in industries.

Study Of Image registration & its application to image mosaicing Apr ‘09

• Studied various types of image registration techniques & implemented the phase co-relation technique in image mosaicing using Matlab software.

• Developed Matlab codes for 2 different methods i.e. automated FFT based implementation and manual control point selection method.

• Lead a team of 4.

Speech Recognition Apr ‘10

• Implemented speech recognizer for distinguishing between ten numeric digits (0-9),using speech-processing techniques.

• MFCC features were compared by the pattern-matching unit with a set of templates, one corresponding to each digit, and the unknown utterance was labeled with the digit whose template it was closest.

RELEVANT COURSES UNDERTAKEN

Analog and non-linear integrated circuit design, RF Systems and Hardware, RF Filter Design, Mobile Communication, Communication Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Speech Recognition and Processing for Multimedia, Robotics.

ACHIEVEMENTS

• Awarded SPECIAL EFFORTS SCHOLARSHIP by HPCL along with a certificate signed by Maharashtra state higher education minister.(India)

• Ranked among the top 1/5th percentile of 500,000 students who appeared for the common entrance test (MHT-CET) .
