Technical Writer, Telos Corporation, March 2001 – April 2011

Reviewed and edited system security authorization agreements and recommendations documents that are prepared by the Telos’ technical staff for the Software Engineering Center at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. Documents were reviewed to ensure that they are technically accurate, worded clearly, and are in compliance with the Defense Information Systems Agency Security Technical Implementation Guides. Also used Microsoft Visio and PowerPoint to provide graphic support to the technical staff.

Technical Writer, Cisco Systems, January 2001– March 2001

Wrote a suite of methods and procedure documents to support the implementation of the Cisco-developed fiber-based metro Optical Solution for Service Providers.

Technical Writer, AT&T, April 1997– January 2001

Wrote user guides and help screens and provided web site content for personnel who operate and maintain a UNIX-based network service design and inventory system. Tested user guides for both accuracy and functionality.

Lead Systems Analyst/Manager Documentation Unit, Continental Insurance, June 1972 – April 1997

As the Lead Systems Analyst, monitored and reported on mainframe, midrange, and PC processor performance and utilization. Wrote proposals to support hardware purchases and upgrades. Also prepared and monitored budgets, and used the SAS programming language in conjunction with Microsoft Excel to download and present processor statistics.

As the manger Documentation Unit, led a unit of up to 18 technical writers who were responsible for user and system documentation, help screens, and computer based training material. The products supported the hardware/software used by Continental Insurance and their agents.

Technical Writer, RCA Solid State Division, February 1970– June 1972

Wrote and edited engineering data bulletins and product guides, which provide technical data to equipment designers and manufacturers who use linear and digital integrated circuits. Wrote the first product guide featuring CMOS technology.

Prepared engineering support data for the Phase Array Radar portion of the Safeguard Anti-Ballistic Missile System. Verified technical accuracy through on-site inspections at the test site on the Marshall Islands.
