Regional Planner, Department of Public Safety, Office of Emergency Management
Update City of Cleveland Emergency Operations Plan, the City’s overall framework for emergency response, to be in compliance with current federal guidelines.
Draft multiple hazard specific annexes to the City’s Emergency Operations Plan, which reflect City-wide response plans regarding neighborhood evacuation, bridge collapse, improvised explosive devices, and extreme weather, amongst others.
Represent City in multiple meetings of the Public Safety Urban Area Working Group (PSUAWG), an entity established by Cuyahoga County to advise the county regarding homeland security and public safety matters.
Participate in two revisions of PSUAWG Bylaws.
Participate in the preparation of various memorandums of understanding with other City of Cleveland departments, as well as other public entities, regarding the shared use of resources.
Work with representatives from Key Bank, Federal Reserve Bank, and other public and private entities to establish the Northern Ohio First Coalition, an organization that will promote information sharing to heighten preparedness capabilities of member organizations.

Served as point person within the City on the establishment of the Downtown Cleveland Special Improvement District, which has brought enhanced safety, economic development, and maintenance services to the downtown area.

Supervised Empowerment Zone HUD 108 Loan portfolio, representing an investment of over $60 million in real estate and business development projects in the federally designated Cleveland Empowerment Zone.
During a period of transition for the Empowerment Zone Labor Force program, reviewed Labor Force proposals and assisted with the initiation of over two million dollars in Labor Force programs that provided entrepreneurial development, computer training, and home health aid training to hundreds of Cleveland residents.

• Negotiated and drafted Empowerment Zone business HUD 108 loan and Economic Development Initiative grant agreements representing over $11 million in funding, leveraging over $37 million in total investment.
• Negotiated and drafted Empowerment Zone Labor Force Economic Development Initiative grant agreements representing over eight million dollars in funding for various service providers in the Empowerment Zone.
• Served as counsel for the Cleveland City Council Committees on City Planning and Zoning.
