ACADEMIC & RESEARCH PROJECTS
M.Tech Project: ‘Lipase-Mediated Kinetic Resolution of Racemic Alcohol intermediates to Enantiomerically Pure Intermediates’
(Guide: Prof. U. C. Banerjee, Dept.of Pharmaceutical Technology Biotechnology, NIPER, Mohali.) (June 2010 onwards)
Synthesized Racemic alcohol intermediates and acetyl products of drugs Arimoclomol(in treatment of ALS) and Enciprazine(non-benzodiazepine anxiolytic) by chemical synthesis
Characterized these products using H-NMR, C-NMR, FTIR, MS, UV-Visible spectroscopy and purified using Flash chromatography and extraction methods
Method developed using HPLC
Micro-organism screened for lipase activity from different soil samples
Kinetic resolution done by esterification reaction with screened lipase and results analysed by HPLC
B.Pharm. Project: ‘Introduction and treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease’ (2007-2008)
(Guide: Mrs. V.L. Kawale, Pharmacology Dept., NDMVPS College of Pharmacy, Nashik)
Reviewed different causes and treatments of Alzheimer’s disease
Mainly focused on herbal treatment of Alzheimer’s disease
