Application Developer for Remedy – an Apache Struts based web application used across all lines of businesses in the Investment Bank and by traders to mark credit risk, deployed on Weblogic 10.0. Remedy consists of two main components - WebMP is the website for creating, and marking risk data and CSQ is the website for reporting on the data stored in Remedy. There is also an XML interface for systems to access this data.
-Duties include:
• Adding functionality and enhancements to the Remedy Web Application by implementing code changes
o Created/modified Java classes (Servlets, Beans, Action classes)
Used Eclipse IDE

Made use of the following tools: JDOM, JMS, JDBC
o Modified the JavaServer Pages – HTML, javascript
• Write/enhance stand alone Java applications used to support Remedy
• Providing or modifying stored procedures (Sybase database), and providing or modifying shell/perl scripts.
• Acting as release manager to provide application enhancements to the end users.
-Large-scale projects include:
• Developing a Java application to map bonds received from a daily feed to Remedy curves.
• Modifying the linked point formula to allow for the use of both spread and factor values in the calculation of follower rates. This involved changes to the Java code base, the WebMP interface(JSP), and database.
• Developing a bulk curve creation tool after the merger with Bear Stearns in Java.
• Designing an xml query to mark curves from the new source, TraderFuse. This involved the addition of new business logic to the Java code base.
• Consolidation/purging of the RemedyDQ_Archive and CDS databases in order to improve application performance.
• Currently assisting on migrating the Remedy application from a unix server to linux.
• Currently assisting on the rearchitecture project for Remedy – moving to a multi clustered environment for parallel processing of requests.
-Work to maintain a stable environment to support increased volumes and business expansion by resolving application
issues and providing client support on a daily basis. Usually involving bug fixes to the business logic in Remedy.
-Assist in end-to-end integration and regression testing in UAT
-Work to improve the efficiency/performance and quality of the application
