• Formulated a preliminary model for asphalt spills in the Cache La Poudre River; helped develop mathematical code in MATLAB intended for use by the City of Fort Collins as a predicative tool to approximate the distance from the spill where the greatest asphalt particle mass will accumulate and also the effect of the diesel component of the spill

• Analyzed the specifications of the equipment and parameters in the alcohol synthesis and separation sections of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory report “Thermochemical Ethanol via Indirect Gasification and Mixed Alcohol Synthesis of Lignocellulosic Biomass” using Aspen Plus, and discovered potential issues not addressed, and ways of possibly handling them
