I worked for the Yakima BIA during the summer months from 1989 to

1992 where I was part of a line crew sent out to various national parks

and other remote areas to fight forest fires. My duties included dropping

dead falls with a chain saw, digging fire trail, and extinguishing burning fuel via hose or bladder bag. During the summer of 1992 I drove a pump truck and tended water reserves for other firefighters.
