Professional Experience
CONNECTOR DESIGN:
Create new designs:
o Designed numerous connectors and cable assemblies to various industry standards, MIL-STD-348A, MIL-PRF-39012, CECC, DIN.
o CAD software (3D/2D) PTC-CoCreate 17.0.
o Drawing/Model revision management via PTC-CoCreate Model Manager 17.0.
o Verify designs electrically through use of HFSS as well as Agilent PNA N5230A.
o Designed non-traditional connectors based on special requirements required by customers.
o Have been trained in FEA analysis using ABAQUS and Hypermesh software.
Customer interaction:
o Developed several connectors for military antenna supplier. Improved their antenna performance by large percentage through on-site visits and discussions with customer engineering group.
o Helped displace a large connector competitor at above customer through results oriented and responsive customer design support. Customer is now a $400K+/yr account for Molex.
o Developed from ground up a new high voltage triax connector series for large instrumentation supplier.
o Developed special high voltage connector with safety circuit switch for manufacturer of high purity vacuum pumps.
o Partnered with medical robotic surgery company to design extremely small differential pair connectors for their new vision system.
Inter-Departmental interaction:
o Developed good relationship with operations manager to better understand and then implement assembly techniques into my connector designs.
o Developed good relationship with machining supervisor to learn methodology and capabilities of CNC lathes and other machining techniques.
o Work with materials manager to utilize present supplier base as well as introduce possible new suppliers to that base.
o Work closely with sales group to provide solutions for customers that benefit both parties. Also, as needed, will participate with sales as a technical expert to help facilitate a solution with the customer.
o I act as our division’s technical lead with corporate engineering group when new software pilot upgrades come out.
o Interact with our Taiwan facility engineering group providing both training and guidance in their designs.
Other aspects:
o Act as an internal auditor for our ISO9001 and ISO14001 programs.
o Serve as backup for our quality group to cover during vacations.
QUALITECH STEEL:
SBQ steel inspection:
o Acted as lead on team that installed and implemented NDT inspection lines.
o Trained personnel in theory of ultrasonic and eddy current inspection.
