As an IT Specialist and IMS, CICS system engineer in Financial Services Sector of IBM Korea, successfully supported application development projects of major Korean large banks, Governmental financial institutes, as well as credit card company, for retail banking and delayed processing application platform under IMS DB/DC environment by installing and generating IMS control blocks, generating PSB,DBD, region JCL for Control/MD/MPP/BMP regions and coded user exits. Successfully managed large volume bank merging project between two major Korean banks by focusing on system performance test. Successfully supported redeveloping project from CICS environment to IMS environment (Industrial Bank of Korea) in full cycle from design and implementation. and customized CAP package programs/tables and other application programs in ASSEMBLER, PL1,COBOL.

Supported development and customization of application package to new or other redevelopment banks using IBM software development methodology .

For these projects, design, requirement gathering, customization, Confifuration, modification, unit/ integration testing, system performance test ,solving problems and timely application, DB migration and meeting project deadline without fail were main issues.

Successfully set up strategic IT plan as a leading member of IBM consulting team and studied about next generation banking system, referring to Japan & European banking system. studied mainly new version of CAPA, data model (IFW – FSDM, BDW) and Corebank model (FSDM) and package (CICS based) made in UK and Denmark. introduced in Korea to banks.

Developed strategic IT Plan for Large bank as a consultant especially for 24x7 high availability service using Parallel Sysplex. Visited Spain BANESTO Bank in Madrid, Spain. and Natwest bank in London, UK, Mitsubishi Bank in Tokyo, Japan to study about future core banking application system.

As a Adv. Project Manager involved in many major projects for large Korean banks as well as other companies such as securities/financial company, credit card company, insurance company, and internet company which were in multi-tiered and different system environments. Those were kinds of core banking application development projects, infra system version up or SW migration projects and merging two large banks into one Parallel Sysplex system environment. Managed SSOs and vendor solution technically and financially by properly buying, utilizing and evaluating results about customisation and configuration.

As a PMO/PO for outsourcing projects (NHN, Kyobo insurance Co.). successfully managed team, SSOs, vendors and critical success factors, critical issues to meet SLA goals and financial targets.

Managed a technical support team of 50 technical professionals supporting major banks and big companies such as LG and SAMSUNG.
