COVER LETTER

February ** ****

Dear Sir/Madam:

Please accept this letter as an expression of my interest in a position with your organization. I became aware of this opportunity through my research on the internet. As requested in the job posting I do have previous military experience.

I have an extensive background in electronic field service travelling across the country providing customers with prompt and efficient solutions to technical problems involving complex hydraulic and pneumatic processor controlled equipment that is critical to their manufacturing process. In the field I would trace electronic problems to the board level, in the shop the trouble would be diagnosed to the component level. The equipment consisted of either gear or diaphragm pumps, electric and or pneumatic solenoids, pressure relief valves, viscosity measurement and control systems. The systems were programed through a hand held programer. In addition to emergency repairs, I would also perform scheduled preventative maintenance programs, identifying potential problems to the customer and making recommendations for more efficient and trouble free operation. The position also entailed completing work, expense, and mileage reports as well as communicating with the customer about their concerns. I was also responsible for maintaining my inventory of spare parts. As a career field service technician I have worked in hundreds of manufacturing plants including heavy steel, aerospace, refineries, bio tech, pharmaceutical, food, beverage and personal care/cosmetic.

As my resume indicates, I have recently completed training for and received my AZ ( Class1 with air brake ) commercial drivers licence, I have a clean drivers abstract and CVOR also a clean police check. I have driven hundreds of thousands of miles in my position as a field service technician and have not had a ticket or moving violation in over 20 years.

My personal attributes include analytical troubleshooting skills, ability to work alone or in a group and report to customers on causes and preventative measures related to breakdowns. My experience has taught me to focus on customer satisfaction and getting the job done safely, efficiently and in a timely matter. I am always willing to see the job through to completion and will make personal sacrifices to this end when needed. I also have a very strong electrical and mechanical skill set having spent many years working on gas and diesel vehicles along with farm equipment, and with many years of living on a farm I am very familiar with working outdoors in all weather conditions.

I have, in the past, taken WHMIS and First Aid courses, and also previously taken courses with Scott Air packs. These certificates are currently expired. I hold a current Canadian Passport and am willing to travel both within the country and internationally as required.

I will endeavour to make productive contributions to your organization and customers, and I would welcome the opportunity to discuss with you how my abilities might best be employed by your organization.

Yours Truly

William J Sweeting
