Recruited to lead the transformation activities as Director of Transformation for the $2 billion IT outsourcing project for the 85 executive branch agencies of the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA), provider of IT that enables government to better serve the public. Led transition team of 50 direct report and ~1,000 program employees in the project management, implementation, and coordination of enterprise-wide software and infrastructure initiatives associated with VITA’s transition to a managed services model.

Promoted to Director, Infrastructure Services to lead the steady-state operations for VITA, which includes servers, backup and storage, mainframe, messaging, disaster recovery, and all internal applications. Manage relationship and communications between business stakeholders and technology teams. Provide IT management and technical consulting to clients, with key input into strategic plans and development of client solutions to expand capabilities. Lead team of 210 employees and manage annual budget of $40 million. Secret clearance (Active) granted by Department of Defense.

Redirected, restructured, and turned around underperforming technology project into a successful, customer-focused, results-oriented strategic unit.

Reduced IT spending by $12 million, while implementing new technology services and maintaining current service levels.
