Work Experience

1. nGIN Technologies June 2007 to Till date

Senior Software Test Engineer

Projects Experience:

Project: Eion Wireless Libra Plus 5860

Description: Libra Plus 5860 takes a carrier-grade approach to network management with a rich Graphical User Interface (GUI) that displays a network level view of device and link status including comprehensive operator maintenance reports and RF diagnostics. No special software is required, because the management interface runs in a standard web-browser window.

Responsibilities:

Worked on the front end GUI development and testing of Libra Plus 5860 Product.

Involved in Unit and Functional testing

Executing regression for features/functionalities and generating test reports

Preparing bug reports/Bug summary documents

Worked on scalability and performance testing

Project: Nortel ERS 8600 BGP+

Description: BGP+ for IPv6 (BGP4+) implementation extends the existing BGP process to exchange the IPv6 address-family routes and support peering over IPv6 address. This was supported by extending MP-BGP capability RFC 4760 standards that allows BGP devices to exchange capabilities and various AF route exchange in a generic way.

Responsibilities:

Involved in the automation of test cases for Unit, functional, integration, regression test plans

Executing the test cases and bug reporting.

Project: NLSS Gateway

Description: The NLSS Gateway is the core of the NLSS Security Platform. It combines essential elements of a physical security solution that were traditionally separate subsystems to provide seamless communication between these various physical security devices. The NLSS Gateway supports multiple streams of digital video in various resolutions and formats, and supports access control panels and readers from one door to hundreds.

Responsibilities:

Worked on the IVR database in Asterisk, and integration of Open SIPS with Asterisk.

Added the IVR functionality to the Asterisk's server

Testing the IVR functionality

Project: Extreme EXOS

Description: Extreme XOS has a rich set of Layer 2 and Layer 3 control protocols, provides flexibility on the design of highly resilient networks and has been designed from the ground up to support the next-generation Internet Protocol, Ipv6. Worked on the platform testing of Extreme EXOS using BD 12k, BD 10k and summit switches. Involved in IPFrag_PMTU, LoadSharing_EXOS, EPM and ACL module testing and automation of test cases using EzTest tool.

Responsibilities:

Involved in IPFrag_PMTU, LoadSharing_EXOS, EPM and ACL module testing

Automated the test cases for all the above functionalities using EzTest tool.

Involved in Unit and Functional and testing

Executing regression for features/functionalities and generating test reports

Worked on scalability and performance testing

Project: Nortel ERS 8600 IPVPN

Description: The project involves in Testing of the Nortel IPVPN feature over the existing Nortel Passport 8600 Global Router. The IPVPN feature involves in distributing the routes to specific VRF aware router that are received from EGP peers. Within an AS, BGP protocol is used for communicating between the peers and distributing the VPN routes to that specific VRF using Route Target information

Responsibilities:

Involved in the automation of test cases for Unit, functional, integration, regression test plans

Executing the test cases and bug reporting.

Project: Multicast Source Discovery Protocol (MSDP)

Description: The project involves in Testing of the Nortel IPVPN feature over the existing Nortel Passport 8600 Global Router. The IPVPN feature involves in distributing the routes to specific VRF aware router that are received from EGP peers. Within an AS, BGP protocol is used for communicating between the peers and distributing the VPN routes to that specific VRF using Route Target information. The Multicast Source Discovery Protocol (MSDP) is a mechanism to connect multiple PIM Sparse-Mode (PIM-SM) domains together. When an RP in a PIM-SM domain first learns of a new sender via PIM register messages, it constructs a "Source-Active" (SA) message and sends it to its MSDP peers. All RPs, which intend to originate or receive SA messages, must establish MSDP peering with other RPs, either directly or via an intermediate MSDP peer.

Responsibilities:

Manual Execution of Unit Test, Integration Test, Functional Test

Bug Tracking and Verification of software fixes

Involved in Regression testing by Manually

2. Comnet Technologies June 2005 – May 2007

Software Test Engineer

Project: Sip Based Soft phone

Description: SIP Soft phone make two-party phone calls using an IP network such as the internet. SIP is structured as a layered protocol, in that transaction l ayer is the third layer. Transactions are a fundamental component of SIP. This module validates message headers and assigns SIP request or response objects to a SIP transaction. Further, it administers SIP transaction objects and calls the registered server module for further processing of SIP messages. Finally, it passes outgoing messages to the network handler according to the requested transport method. In the case of UDP communication it additionally configures timers for re-transmitting lost packets. Any task that a user agent client (UAC) accomplishes takes place using a series of transactions. The aim of the parser is to process the abstract incoming data stream. The output is an intermediate data structure, which from then on will be the only object for manipulation through a well-defined interface.

Responsibilities:

Tested the SIP call flows in the Soft phone using Ethereal protocol analyzer.

Written and Executed the unit test plan for the soft phone features.

Academic Profile

Bachelors of Technology degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, India 2001 – 2005.
