MILESTONES
Installation of Open Systems Technologies WiMAX Base Station
Was lead Engineer in the installation, configuration and roll out of the Open Systems Technologies WiMAX base station using Alvarion?
Installation of UUNET’s WiMAX, VOICE and VIDEO Network
Was the lead Engineer in the design, installation and commissioning of the UUNET WiMAX network, on which we deployed a VOIP network and ran video conferencing and video surveillance on the network. This offered customers a cheaper solution for on-net calling and ease in monitoring their premises using IP surveillance cameras or CCTV cameras connected on to DVRs.
Installation of Popote Wireless Backhauls
Was lead Engineer in the technical evaluation of different vendor solutions and equipment. Carried out the design, installation, configuration of Radwin’s Point to point equipment and integration to give Popote wireless a reliable backhaul solution using Carrier class equipment.
Installation of Ministry of Health Multi point-to-point connectivity
Was lead Engineer in the design, configuration, setup and installation of the Ministry of health Multi point-to-point solution. This was to interlink their various departments using Radwin’s Winlink 1000 Access multi point-to-point Product.
Installation of the KWS smart card project radio connectivity
Was the project Manager for the design, configuration and implementation of the KWS smart card project. This was geared to provide IP connectivity to all the Smart card parks. It involved deployment of a converged IP solution using VSAT, IP MW links in KWS National parks, IP PABXs and IP phones. Enabling the Park entry points to communicate with the various park Headquarters. I have also set up a WLAN at the KWS training institute in Naivasha. These radio links are currently being used to provide cheap on-net calls between park gates and the park headquarters. They will soon be used to carry video surveillance traffic as well.
Rollout of Safaricom WiMAX network
Project managed the Radio network planning for the first three phases of WiMAX planning and implementation for Safaricom WiMAX network. This ensured timely delivery of the BTS sites.
