• Part of a research group that developed and analyzed macro and micro-simulation models for a densely populated urban

area to evaluate the traffic impacts of a bioterrorism attack (i.e. smallpox)

• Developed a micro-simulation of Washington, DC using a Dynamic Traffic Assignment (DTA) algorithm and analyzed

different evacuation scenarios regarding metro station evacuation with public transportation assistance

• Analyzed existing signal timings of a major corridor at several intersections in order to recalibrate actuated signal timings

• Conducted a campus wide pedestrian safety study

• Instructed students in use of simulation software

• Conducted simulation of emergency evacuation for hurricane vulnerable area, analyzed, and rerouted traffic using various

algorithms and traffic rerouting strategies for improved hurricane evacuation plan
