Project Manager: responsibilities: supervising surveys of 26 schools for San Bernardino City Unified Schools District (SBCUSD). The surveys were conducted to provide the District with information in order to evaluate if the sites met the districts E-Rate specifications, State, City and local codes as well as Industry Standards and Federal Funding requirements from the SLD. Responsibilities included reviewing billing manifests, equipment installations, pathway installations, cabling installations and the supplied test results for copper and fiber cable links. Efforts provided potentially saved SBCUSD $2,000,000.00 in over billing, supplied detailed individual reports of each sites installation practices, thus exposing code and fire safety violations. The reports also provided the district’s Maintenance and Operations department information to repair certain areas and make them safe for staff and students.

Responsibilities as a Construction Manager on this project were to assist in preparation of bid packages, reviewed construction drawings, physical layout, schematics, engineering calculations, fire alarm system, telephone systems, lightning protection, estimating, equipment specifications, telecommunication/LAN systems and supervision of design personnel. Changes orders, RFC’s, provide updates for weekly dashboard, Order and maintain material inventory, Create schedule for sub contractors, Hold Job start meetings, daily site visits to monitor site progress, QA/QC walks, Check with Sub contractor to insure red lines are updated daily and checked for accuracy. Review each job’s close out packages for final review by customer.

Senior Project Manager: For SBC, in charge of the Media Converter Fan Warranty Replacement Program for the Los Angeles Unified School District. Responsibilities included scheduling of the crews at the various school locations where specific repairs were to be performed. Maintained and tracked the shipping and receiving of supplies and materials, kept an accurate and updated spreadsheet of the progress being made. Maintained open lines of communication with LAUSD ITD personnel and prior to dispatching the campus warranty crews notified the district’s main point of contact for scheduling. Inspected and repaired MILAN 9100 media converters sent to the school site for warranty replacement.

Senior Network Manager supported the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Information Technology Division (ITD) (PMO). Performed design review on LAUSD Year 6 E rate project. Reviewed and analyzed final prints. Had meetings with the District installation and support vendors to resolve conflicts in the interpretation of these local codes and standards and specifications. The RFC’s (Requests for Clarification) were District-Developed. Performed the final Quality Assurance Inspections on the school site locations and completed the final closeout documentation.

Senior Project Manager supported the LAUSD ITD Strategic Planning Office and FTPMG Office in multiple areas. Supervised and managed 35 + network engineers performing daily inspections of new local area networks (LANs), public announcement (PA) systems, autonomous PA systems, and intrusion systems at more than 400 schools. Performed and managed the performance of final inspection of individual campus complete telecommunications systems. Reviewed and analyzed final prints, fiber and copper cabling test results, and installation-team-prepared closeout documents. Made a thorough and comprehensive industry analysis and educated myself on LAUSD’s specifications and local codes and standards for District-developed Requests for Clarification. Advised and educated the installation and support vendors on how to successfully complete the specific requirements, standards and specifications set by LAUSD. Developed the documentation used for the closeout review standards, for LAUSD on the Year 6 E-Rate Program and Technology projects. Within the first 18 months of developing the Network department within FTPMG, LAUSD saved over $4,000,000 in frivolous lawsuits and unwarranted change orders. Extremely proficient in data, voice, and fiber-optic cable installation and termination, including multiple fiber optic splicing and test gear setups for single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling.
