CHANGE MANAGEMENT LEADER & EIT COORDINATOR – MEDIUM DUTY TRUCKS (2000–2009)
Managed and coordinated the change approval board and engineering work order implementation team for the GMT560 product line. Due to complexity and variation of the builds both teams operated from the assembly center in which the product ran in a continuous launch mode. Also, responsible for working with design release engineers to provide launch assistance, which included education and training of the engineering change and manufacturing processes to ensure flawless production activities.
• 100% review of all engineering change orders for adherence to global guidelines and launch procedures; this resulted in better time management of the change approval board.
• Facilitated the change approval board which holds responsibility for reviewing and approving engineering’s intent to modify a vehicle and established the target implementation date for when the change is required to be at the assembly center.
• Single point contact for tier-1 suppliers, manufacturing plant floor, material department and sequencers for engineering release issues that required a 24-hour corrective action plan to be implemented.
• Led a launch team of managers from purchasing, supplier quality, manufacturing and engineering that managed and resolved roadblocks in the implementation of engineering changes from design release, contract and ppap to the assembly center floor.
