• Enhanced and simplified the converter design by breaking down the circuit into four small components: Buck layout, control circuitry, linear regulator and high side MOSFET driver.

• Implemented control mechanism using PWM controller IC, to make the design compact and cost effective.

• Submitted a 30 page final report on the design and evaluation of the project.

• With minimal supervision and excessive research, successfully designed a Buck Converter with the required specifications.

Lazy Gardner (Growth Chamber for plants) May 2008 - August 2008

• Spearheaded the construction of a compact, inexpensive growth chamber for plants. The device was able to adjust/correct the humidity, temperature, soil moisture and light exposure with the help of four separate control units, sensors, LCD display and an input keypad

• Engineered and verified various electronic circuits such as, control circuits made using an opto-coupler, relay and MOSFET, which was used for controlling a motor and turning on heater and fan.

• Fabricated the frame of the device using water jet cutter after designing it in SOLID EDGE.

• Tested and debugged each component of the device independently for proper operation and then repeated the process extensively by looking for and fixing mechanical failures of parts, software glitches as well as the malfunction of electrical and electronic components

• The growth chamber would allow users to grow any plant in any season. Perfect for growing exotic plants in Canada.

UBC Thunderbird Housing - President May 2008 - February 2009

• Presided over a council of 10 members to sponsor and coordinate activities for 800 residents to increase a sense of community and to promote and protect the rights of individual within the residence community.

• Restored Thunderbird Resident Life Office (RLO) where residents can rent DVDs, VHS movies, sports equipments, projector and board games.

• Successfully promoted TRA among the residents. Awareness and turnout for the events increased dramatically.

• Organized social events for residents such as kayaking, longboat, movie night, ice skating and many more.
