Put together recommendations and quotes. Products consisted of adsorbents, catalysts, specialty amines and other proprietary products used in refineries and gas plants. Territory included St. Paul, St. Louis, Chicago, Kansas City, Springfield, MO and Omaha. 11 refineries were included in this.

1999-2001 Refining and Water Treatment Specialist Specialized in oil and gas and water treatment. Managed three refineries while developing a water and wastewater treatment program in our region. The water treatment program consisted of securing vendor and customer relationships to facilitate sales of coagulants and flocculants and other products to potable water plants, municipal wastewater treatment plants, and industrial wastewater treatment plants. Joint calls with IC (industrial chemical) reps required as well as tracking of all sales and reporting to sales manager. Sales grew during the time I managed this program

1992-1999 IC Sales Representative Managed a territory for IC sales which included food and pharmaceutical, paint and coatings, oil and gas, water treatment, and compounding accounts. I led the North Central Region in sales to oil and gas accounts. Territory totaled about $ 4 MM and grew about $1 MM while I had it. Accounts ranged in size from $20M to $1.5 MM annually. Position required development of relationships with customers and vendors to ensure growth.

1989-1992: Atotech (formerly M&T Chemical), St. Louis, MO

Senior Sales Engineer Managed a territory for a major supplier to the plating industry. Accounts included nickel-chrome, zinc, copper, tin/lead, and other non-precious metals. Territory included Missouri, Southern Illinois, Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska. Territory totaled about $ 1.5 million in sales. It grew about a half million during my tenure there. Landed a $500M account during this time and introduced a process which saved an $80M account.

1983-1989 Enthone-OMI (formerly OMI International), Rock Hill, SC

Technical Sales Representative Managed a territory for a major supplier to the plating industry. Very similar customer base to the position at Atotech. Territory, again, was around $ 1.5 million and was made up of South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia.

1981-1983 DMP Corporation, Rock Hill, SC

Laboratory Manager Responsible for building and maintaining their laboratory which was designed for wastewater treatment analysis and treatability studies. The company designed and built custom wastewater treatment systems for industrial accounts. Performed initial study for system design and then did troubleshooting in the field if necessary. Managed two lab technicians and developed an ion exchange system which resulted in a $ 100,000 order.

1976-1981 McClelland Consulting Engineers, Fayetteville, AR

Laboratory Manager Started as bench chemist and was promoted to laboratory manager. The company designed municipal and industrial wastewater treatment systems. Carried out treatability studies in support of engineering projects. This required time in the field as well as lab time. Managed three chemists. Accounts included metal finishing, poultry processing, canning, and domestic wastewater

This was a major supplier to the plating industry. Started out as a

chemical operator in the manufacturing operation and was promoted to

customer service lab chemist. Carried out routine analyses on

customers’ samples and wrote reports and recommendations.
