REMEDIATION, TRAINING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT 2002 - 2006

Retained to provide critical support, improve compliance and augment project efforts. Companies serviced include EnviroScience Consultants, Safe Harbors, Vortex, Mancon, PPM Group, Rhode Island Analytical Labs.

For Mancon: ensure strict compliance with current RIDOH, EPA, OSHA, and Department of Navy (DON) standards and directives as they apply to projects conducted throughout NAVSTA Newport and the Naval Underwater Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI.

Recruited by URS Corporation, under contract to CONOCO, to audit and correct poor safety practices in use by subcontractors at hazardous waste site located in Weymouth, MA. Implemented daily safety orientation that aligned with daily project plan, providing task-specific direction and outlining consequences of non-compliance. Improved execution was noted on Dangerous Action and Near Miss Reports submitted to URS and CONOCO.

For Rhode Island Analytical, designed and implemented corporate hazardous waste program that demonstrated how to improve profits though good execution, resulting in 44% reduction in disposal costs and full USEPA compliance.

For Safe Harbors, served as on-site construction safety officer, currently provides OSHA Outreach and regular and ongoing asbestos and hazardous materials handling training to employees, including those of Boston Housing Authority.

For Enviroscience, facilitated Environmental Health and Safety seminars focusing on chemical use & interactions, personal protective equipment (PPE).

For PPM Group, supported site in the investigation of injury and non-compliance incidents. Maintained data and provided statistical analysis to measure improvement and balance risk with benefit.

Directing timing, safety, and quality of asbestos abatement contracts for General Electric. Assured compliance with state and federal regulations including applicable OSHA standards e.g. fall protection, excavation, confined space entry, respiratory protection, etc.

Avoided shut down caused by sprinkler system activation during asbestos and lead removal effort. Conceptualized and implemented negative air redrafting plan and installed temporary insulation to allow full plant operations without compromising safety or compliance directives.
