• Managed and implemented the Smith System Advanced Driver Training Program for a regional trucking company reducing highway accidents by 26% and off highway accidents by 30% in six months while increasing actual miles driven. Reductions are calculated against fleet performance for the same time period the previous year.

• Reorganized and directed the workers’ compensation, medical service and safety functions reducing costs by 53% while improving the quality of care for injured employees and eliminating fraud. Cost reductions were achieved over four years and were attributed to aggressive claims settlement, implementing a preferred providers’ network for medical services, improved results from medical treatment, aggressive return to work philosophy and competent investigation of suspect claims in support of litigation.

• Outsourced several proprietary security officer and medical services programs and replaced them with contracted services regionally, nationally, and internationally. In one case, first year savings were $750K while measured quality of service improved.

• Created and implemented a comprehensive training and certification program that improved internal customer satisfaction and reduced costs by 27%. Manager of Loss Prevention Services

Created and managed the comprehensive security program comprised of security staff, intrusion alarms, closed circuit television system, fire detection and suppression systems, covert surveillance and undercover operations. Initiated and conducted investigations of employee misconduct involving material theft, insurance fraud, kickbacks, misuse of proprietary information, sexual harassment, illegal use of drugs and racial and disability discrimination. Eliminated workplace violence in several high incident, multi-cultural, environments. Served as in house consultant to international affiliates. Reorganized and managed a self-insured, self-administered workers’ compensation insurance function which included direction of medical treatment, indemnity benefits, disability benefits and claims litigation. Combined budget responsibilities were $3MM. Directed the environmental health, fire and life safety, and medical service functions.
