Resume:

OPENING STATEMENT

Actively seeking a position in which I can apply my outstanding writing

skills. Beyond this singular desire, however, I am very flexible. Having

worked as an engineer for several years now since graduating from college,

I have honed my written communication skills. With proven experience in

project management, production support and R&D roles across nine industries

including defense, aerospace, shipbuilding, aviation, solar energy, nuclear

energy, electronics, semiconductors and consumer products, the common

denominator in all of my experience has been the requirement of providing a

wide variety of documentation to satisfy diverse audiences. Some of my

writing has included a computer manual which was published and distributed

commercially; numerous standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the

fabrication and assembly of electronic countermeasure systems, wiring

harnesses, cable assemblies and consumer products; manufacturing work

instructions which were informed by military standards (MIL-STDs) and

specifications (MIL-SPECs); quality standards related to ISO requirements

as well as the CFR; chemical process documentation for the production of

thin film (amorphous silicon) photovoltaic modules; entire "build books"

for assembly of aviation actuators mandated to adhere to the stringent

aerospace industry standards for flight-qualified hardware; white papers;

requests for proposals (RFPs) and quotes (RFQs); professional engineering

consultation reports; numerous business correspondence; and a master's

degree thesis. When I developed and wrote my master's degree thesis, I

became so engaged in and energized during the process that the nine-months

of focused effort seemed to have occurred in a fraction of that time. Most

recently, I successfully developed and documented a new product assembly

process for the fault-tolerant electromechanical actuator for a classified

customer.

EXPERIENCE SUMMARY

Documentation-oriented, degreed engineering professional with exposure to

medical technology and particular strength in design analysis and

concurrent engineering (DFMA). Strong, diverse technical background

and hands-on experience in operations, engineering, quality assurance,

auditing, product/process development and project management in a wide

variety of high-reliability and disciplined change control job

shop/production environments (governed by MIL-STDs, cGMP, etc.) requiring

consistent repeatability including aerospace, defense electronics,

optoelectronics, microelectronics, photonics, fiber optics, semiconductor

lasers, R&D, consumer products, shipbuilding and alternative energy

("green") industries. Extensive experience in methods and processes,

product/process integration, documentation/configuration control/PDM, shop

floor support (in both union and non-union environments) and in developing

and documenting electro-mechanical fabrication and assembly procedures from

engineering drawings, including the incorporation of engineering changes

(ECOs). Additional experience in concurrent engineering/DFMA, reverse

engineering, simple tool design, electro-mechanical fabrication and

assembly, printed circuit board design and assembly, project planning and

coordination, and facilities layout. Extremely versatile and well-organized

with exceptional people skills and proficiency in defusing conflict.

Exceptional written communication skills. Demonstrated, effective teaming

skills and leadership ability. Computer literate. Adaptable and flexible;

willing to work various shifts. Able to maintain a high-level government

security clearance. Additionally accomplished as an Operations Supervisor

in structural trades (e.g., welding). Exposure to Focused Factory/Work

Cell environments, Six Sigma/DMAIC/8D, Lean Manufacturing, KanBan, Kaizen

(and Kaizen blitz events), MOC, CMMI, continuous improvement, value stream

mapping, 5S, batch-and-queue as well as continuous flow/cell production,

AutoCAD, Pro-E, SolidWorks, CNC programming, and SLA/SLS tooling. Strong

work ethic and ability to work with people from all walks of life. Various

supervisory experience as noted below.
