OPENING STATEMENT
Actively seeking a position in which I can apply my outstanding writing
skills. Beyond this singular desire, however, I am very flexible. Having
worked as an engineer for several years now since graduating from college,
I have honed my written communication skills. With proven experience in
project management, production support and R&D roles across nine industries
including defense, aerospace, shipbuilding, aviation, solar energy, nuclear
energy, electronics, semiconductors and consumer products, the common
denominator in all of my experience has been the requirement of providing a
wide variety of documentation to satisfy diverse audiences. Some of my
writing has included a computer manual which was published and distributed
commercially; numerous standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the
fabrication and assembly of electronic countermeasure systems, wiring
harnesses, cable assemblies and consumer products; manufacturing work
instructions which were informed by military standards (MIL-STDs) and
specifications (MIL-SPECs); quality standards related to ISO requirements
as well as the CFR; chemical process documentation for the production of
thin film (amorphous silicon) photovoltaic modules; entire "build books"
for assembly of aviation actuators mandated to adhere to the stringent
aerospace industry standards for flight-qualified hardware; white papers;
requests for proposals (RFPs) and quotes (RFQs); professional engineering
consultation reports; numerous business correspondence; and a master's
degree thesis. When I developed and wrote my master's degree thesis, I
became so engaged in and energized during the process that the nine-months
of focused effort seemed to have occurred in a fraction of that time. Most
recently, I successfully developed and documented a new product assembly
process for the fault-tolerant electromechanical actuator for a classified
customer.
