COOPER STANDARD AUTOMOTIVE, CooperStandard Automotive, Novi, MI. 2000-present

Supplier Development and Corporate Quality Manager (2004-present)

Report to the Director of Quality and responsible for implementing quality systems initiatives spanning seventeen manufacturing facilities. Responsible for all OEM Quality management activities, plant support and improvements and our Supplier Development program. Responsible for 6 salary employees and a budget responsibility of $500k.

· Developed and launched Cooper Standard’s Global supplier development program. Developed Cooper Standard’s online web site for all suppliers to log on and receiving performance scorecards and respond to corrective actions.

· Reduce supplier PPM from 10,000 to 1,000 in the first 6 months and generated over $2.0M in supplier charges in the first year of implementation. 2008 year end overall PPM 200 with over $5.0M in supplier charges resulting in 25% improvement from 2007

· Developed lean initiatives to reduce scrap cost and start up cost within our extrusion operations.

· Risk assessed and developed suppliers in China, South Korea, Japan and India.

· Development VA/VE opportunities to bring cost down with key critical supplier

· Developed and worked with suppliers in multiple commodities such as, plastics, castings, stampings, chemical, machining, assembly, coatings and rubber.

Corporate Quality Manager (2000-2004)

· Reduced corporate PPM by 300% and improved Cooper Standard’s quality with our OEM customers using quality principles and the standardizing of best practices all through effective training and coaching.

· Implemented layer process audits.

· Developed and launched Cooper Standard’s North American practices for Cooper Standard China, Japan, England and Brazil.

· Successfully reestablish Ford’s Q1 by utilizing open issue reporting, effective problem solving cross-functional teams and redeveloping procedures and policies.

BTR AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEM, Madison Heights. MI 1998-2000

Senior Quality Engineer

Responsible for the management of the BTR OEM platform to ensure compliance with OEM Quality requirements; APQP, PPAP, 8-D, POS, etc. Responsible for tracking and implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six sigma programs for all six North American manufacturing operations. Duties include developing the work breakdown structure and creating the master project timeline with the project team. Responsible for training and the implementation of AIAG guidelines for Control plan, FMEA and Flow Diagram methodology. Responsible for the development and the maintaining of QS9000 manuals and procedures. Manage the Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) Status reporting process for new programs

· Developed BTR’s global Supplier Quality Manual.

· Successfully reestablish Ford’s Q1 at Knoxville TN facility.

LEAR CORPORATION, Lordstown, OH 1994-1998

Senior Quality Engineer (1997-1998)

Responsible for managing a multi-shift Just-In-Time operation for the world’s largest independent supplier of automotive seats. Duties include the development and design of new product launches. Create quality standards and procedures for current and future products. Responsible for customer PPAP Champion APQP meeting for new launches

Responsible for managing the Quality department in the absence of the Quality Manager Assisted throughout all phases of QS 9000 implementation and successfully passed eight surveillance audits.

· Led in the development of the Quality systems, which have been used as a model for other Lear plants.

Supplier Quality Engineer (1995-1997)

Responsible for managing and developing supplier relationships. Champion all supplier related problems. Developed and maintained supplier containment procedures and supplier’s PPAP.

· Reduced supplier PPM from 12,000 in January of 96 to 125 in March of 97

Production Supervision (1994-1995)

Responsible for planning and scheduling all production in a union environment. Duties included the distribution of available manpower in accordance with work priorities. Monitor work of section to assure optimum use of personnel and equipment. Communicate company policies and regulations to subordinates and maintain effective personnel relationships. Responsible for product quality and continuous improvement. Participated in problem solving and various quality issues.

· Increased first time through by 60% and reduced departmental scrap.
