About the project

7. I am doing application development for mobile phones.

8. The phone has many features apart from just a low end mobile e.g. efficient touch screen, good networking or socializing apps and all the tracks has some more added value.

My roles

1. I am working on development of Settings application (mostly with screens) where we have to deal with the interaction with all the other application like to respond to the changes done in them and save their status. Incorporating other devices like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, deal with the memory and SD card status and like this many more.

About the project

1. The project deals with the development of the promising features provided by OMAP3430 multimedia application processor with advanced super-scalar ARM processor enabling 3 x gains in performance.

2. It enables multi-standard (MPEG4, H264, H263, WMV, Real video) at D1 (720x480 pixel) at 30fps.

3. Apart from this it also includes integrated image signal processor (ISP) for faster, high quality image capture and lower system cost. It supports camera with as high as 8Megapixel resolution.

4. It also supports S-video TV out from OMAP3430 based mobile phones.

My roles:

I was in the video team of multimedia Symbian S60 Platform for multimedia group in middleware layer.

1. Worked on maintenance video codec plug-in like H264, H263 and MPEG4. I was directly involved in debugging and bug fixing the defects of different priority ranges mainly related with D1 patterns.

2. Doing functional testing checking if the video playback is supported in all the combination of codec and different resolution like CIF, QCIF, VGA, QVGA, D1PAL, D1NTSC and 720p with the different ranges of mega pixel.
