During this time, I participated in several activities associated with the deregulations of the industry. Principal assignments included Ginna’s representative on the Northeast Energy Alliance (1995) and as the New York Nuclear Operating Company (NYNOC) Working Group Member (1996-1998). I performed as the Corporate Technical Lead, completing due diligence and evaluating our option to acquire Nine Mile 1 and 2. I participated as a lead bid evaluation team member on the sale RG & E’s 14% ownership share of Nine Mile 2 to Constellation Energy, and the 2004 sale of R.E. Ginna.

As Department Manager-Quality Performance I reported to Chief Nuclear Officer and SVP. During this developmental assignment I had responsibility for Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and NDE Materials Engineering.

• Revised Ginna Station’s Quality Assurance Program Submittal for Operations to Standard Review plan 17.3 format, allowing cultural change towards self-assessment.

• Directed efforts to replace QA Manual with Nuclear Directives.

• Directed development of Performance Based Audit Criteria and database to trend functional area results.

• Developed and implemented Quality Initiatives Program focused on elimination or transfer of traditional quality related activities to the line organization.

I directed all activities relating to Plant Operations, Technical Engineering, Health Physics and Chemistry, Operational Assessment, and Plant Computer Systems.

As Plant Engineer, I provided technical direction for a variety of projects such as the steam generator reliability project, and upgraded maintenance and outage planning and schedule projects.

• Directed steam generator tube rupture recovery and reliability improvement programs 1982 -1985

• Developed and integrated Westinghouse Owners Group emergency operating guidelines into the Ginna Station site specific emergency operation procedures set.
