Work Experience: Three years of organic/inorganic chemistry, biochemical, and disease based research

experience at U.C. Santa Barbara. One year spent in Dr. Kahn’s laboratory working on enzyme purification,

identification, and molecular visualization along with pharmacokinetics studies. I was also introduced to drug design

techniques such as target validation, high-through put screening, lead compound optimization and clinical trials. One

year was also spent in Dr. Jamey Marth’s Center for Nanomedicine at the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute

for a biological internship. Studies in the laboratory spanned autoimmune disease, cancer, diabetes, neurodegenerative

syndromes, sepsis and infectious disease. I have been working 40 hours a week and have been in charge of managing

the mouse colonies, PCR and electrophoresis based genotyping, blood preps. surgery, creating a biological repository

for various cell selections, western blots/transfers, FACS, and HTPS.

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Linux, Molecular Modeling (SYBLY, Pymol),

Computational Chemistry (Molecular Dynamics),

Protein Data Bank, Biology Work Bench, QSAR.
