Professional Experience
ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT PROFESSOR – SANTA CLARA, CUBA:
o Taught students how to: Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipmen, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
o Taught students how to: Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equoment and handtools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
o Taught students how to: Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers and other components.
o Taught students how to: Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazard defects and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with codes.
ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN – OKEELANTA CORP.
o Applied electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery and electrical control equipment.
o Assembled and tested experimental motro-control devices, switch panels, transformers, generator windings and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles.
o Diasnoses the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunctions or failures of operational equipment. Also performed preventative and corrective maintenance
o Develops wiring diagrams, layout drawings and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansion, and directs personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties.
o Plans, directs, and records periodic electrical testing, and recommends or initiates modification or replacement of
o equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards.
SUB-STATION TECHNICIAN – POWERSERVE TECHNOLOGIES.
o Installation and start up of new projects in electrical sub-stations.
o Interpreting electrical prints in power distribution diagrams. Replacing the old protection system with a newly developed system (751 relay)
o Participated in the controls installation of all assigned transmition sub-stations. Also, setting up the high voltage breakers (138 K.V)
o Installation, testing and termination of fibre optics to ensure the communication between protection equipments.
o All of the work shown above is in direct correlation with ‘Smart-Grid project’.
o Applying all theory and practices of my knowledge, I’ve successfully installed alarm systems for various sub-stations in all of South Florida.
o All work has been successfully in compliance with FPL’s safety procedures.
o Took part in replacing the electrical batteries in the control rooms to guarantee the the proper voltage controls.
o Worked with all testing engineers troubleshooting feeder breakers (13 K.V)
