The biggest postal & transportation company in Czech Republic, with over 40 000 employees offering clients also money

transfers and payments and other electronic services over the internet.

Senior Java developer, analyst November 2005 – Present

Mainly development of an extranet Java based web applications (daily usage of Struts 2, webservices, Springframework,

Maven, Subversion, Sun Access Manager SSO) for the Czech Post customers using Sybase ASE, Sybase EA Server and

Glassfish. I’m creating front-end as well back-end applications. These are distributed around Czech Republic and some

of them are working in a cluster for high availability.

For the first 2 years I worked alone on the official webpages (portal system) of the company. I reworked it from old

technologies into newer using Struts 2, Springframework and Velocity.

After that I started to work on many smaller projects and one bigger - client zone, which is used by company clients

•

to register/login into the system and then application allows them to pay bills, send special secured mails for

companies in Czech Republic, buy products and find services. Application is based on SSO, webservices and is using

ESB as a backend system.

Java architect December 2011 – Present

I'm also working as a Java architect for B2B, ESB, Direct Mail Online (a large application for customers), Online

Forms, Track&Trace and other projects. I'm working on a big picture“ view of those systems and I also implement

many backend parts of them in Java (like webservices, EJB 3, caching systems etc.) - mainly as some reusable Maven

Artifacts.

I have also the responsibility for finding and adopting new technologies putting them into new projects and then be a

mentor“ for rest of the team. I also prepare some of the best practices for us. Both are done as discussion with the team.

So far I helped to adopt and mentor developers those technologies and now the company is using them in production:

Maven 2, Glassfish 2 & 3, Springframework, Struts 2, AOP, Ehcache, MyBatis, Hibernate, Subversion, Ehcache,

JUnit testing and integration testing, webservices and EJB 3.x, Checkstyle for a united coding style etc.

Development of the Production Control System - a standalone application (written in Borland Delphi and using Oracle

database) which has many modules including: product information for production, prices&invoices, storage information,

reporting etc.

With just one colleague we had to program a production system for the whole factory based in Czech Republic.
