ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Automatic Climate Control System -
Team member of a group with the charter to design the conversion of a mechanical automatic climate control system to a fully automated digital system. Designed the device blower control motor; increased efficiency, improvements increased lifespan of system by nearly three times the expected time frame. Successfully designed, tested, and produced a prototype with a project final cost that was less expensive than existing options by 33%.
Spectrum Analyzer -
Design a 6-band spectrum analyzer utilizing the Digilent Pegasus board with Xilinx Spartan-II FPGA. Input was derived from a laptop and sent via external bandpass filters. Programmed FPGA with VHDL as primary language using Xilinx ISE. Utilized function generators and oscilloscopes to perform all testing.
Software Engineering -
Identified and established standards to redesign and enhance usability and functionality. Worked in tandem with research biology scientists and senior faculty to perfect a software system that analyzed and extrapolated research data from three datasets involved in the study of genomes. According to variety of specified controls system successfully replicated the prior physical experiment. Project was both designed and completed within a five month period utilizing Java and Perl programming languages.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Software Development Engineer
This 26 year old technology company reports four employees and a focus on the design of software for metal building contractors engaged in both pre-fab and on-site projects ranging from storage sheds to airplane hangars. Interact on a daily basis with programmers, engineers, structural engineers, and administrative professionals to provide 60-70 clients with specific applications for their client base. Software packages range in price from $5,000 to $40,000. Assisted in the development of the company’s flagship product PrecisionPlus which is a software package for use in the design of the metal buildings. Consider wind forces, seismic forces, and building codes in the changes and to the designs. Personally integrated software projects, including modification of applications with the Graphical User Interface (GUI) communication between Visual Basic GUI and C++/FORTRAN DLLs, and improve output reports and drawings created by the program. Responded to customer input with regard to liner paneling, trim options and design plan. Wrote code to cost out project and transferred to output reports. Design facilitated future expansion on project, which was completed ahead of schedule with resounding client approval.
