Graduated from Conestoga’s two-year Public Relations diploma program. Some courses included: Four writing classes, Media Relations, Event Planning, Strategic Communications Planning, Research, Issues Management, Persuasion, Media Training and Presentation Skills, Web Design & Writing and PR Consulting.
• Won Writing Excellence Award for achieving an overall 85% average throughout all writing courses in the program. Was one of only three students to do so.
Seneca College Sept. 2004 – Apr. 2006
Graduated from Seneca’s two-year Broadcast Journalism diploma program.
XM Radio
Interned at their hockey station “Home Ice” to gain experience in the journalism field as part of my college program. While there was responsible for screening phone calls, cutting and editing highlight material to be played on air and learning the basics of operating the audio boards.

WORK EXPERIENCE
Kitchener Rangers Aug. 2009 – May 2010
As an intern duties include interviewing players and researching statistics and information to write promotional material to be published each home game. My articles are published in programs and distributed to over 6000 fans per game, and were also included in a package sent to current and potential sponsors. Also to assist the Director of Public Relations with various game-day functions and promotions.
Conestoga College Sept. 2008 – May 2010
Work as a Student Ambassador for the school. Responsibilities include touring prospective new students and their families, speaking about college life to high school students, representing the school at events, writing for the website, Connections Magazine and performing office tasks with the Marketing Department and Registrar’s office.

Interned at In The Game, a sports trading card company, archiving files to their servers, proof reading cards, packaging products, preparing mail outs, plus various other tasks around the office and warehouse. Also represented the company and assisted at its booth at the 30th National Sports Collector’s Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.
Allied International Aug. 2007 – Aug. 2008
Worked on behalf of Capital One Auto Finance where problem solving was critical in contacting customers throughout the U.S. about their outstanding loans.
Additional Employment Experience 2002 - 2007
Several years of experience in customer service at several retail positions. Responsibilities have included opening and closing, cash duties, merchandising, sales and dealing with customer inquiries. Have also managed staff with titles including Key Holder, Stock Manager and Assistant Manager.
Children’s Television Studios 1993 - 1996
Completed acting certificate, performed a minor role in the television show Kids in the Hall and was an extra in the TV hockey movie Networth.
VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE
• Developed and communicated two media training sessions with Conestoga’s PR Program Coordinator for presentations to the Kitchener Rangers.
• Assisted with the NHL Rookie Tournament at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium in 2009 as a Media Liaison.
• Participated as a member of residence’s Social Orientation Staff (SOS) in 2008/09, which included organizing events and moving students in. Was also the Athletic Rep for SOS and planned sports events for the students of residence.
• Assisted with the Lung Association’s Amazing Pace 2008 in Kitchener/Waterloo
OTHER INTERESTS
• Going to the gym, fitness, travelling and playing many sports such as hockey, soccer, dodgeball, etc. Won the “Jock” award at my Public Relations Graduation.
• On occasion contributing to sports websites and radio shows with blogs, articles and write-ins on sites like bleacherreport.com, covers.com and radio shows on The Fan590.
