SUPPLY CHAIN / LOGISTICS MANAGER

Inventory & Cost Control / Multi-Sites / Growth & Capacity Planning / Team Building / Logistics /

Call Center / Distribution

As a senior Manager with Fortune 500 logistics and distribution leader FedEx Freight, I have managed all aspects of operations, supply chain, and employee relations initiatives to improve productivity. I designed and executed programs to increase efficiencies, positively impacting the bottom line.

By creating cohesion between all divisions through performance tracking, communication, and logistics, I elevated cooperation and collaboration, leading to increased employee morale and overall performance improvements. In addition, I drove the upgrading of company intranet to portal, increasing productivity.

 Improving efficiency and productivity

 Training and developing departmental personnel

 Controlling 65 service centers in 13 states and 1,100 employees

 Streamlining interdepartmental coordination and communication

 Completing projects on time and under budget

I have been described as a strategic tactical problem solver who is dedicated to excellence. I demonstrate consistent success in meeting internal/external customer needs and expectations while managing costs and increasing productivity. I hold a BS from the University of California at Davis.

SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Turning around underperforming operations. Service Center outbound operations performance was declining. Researched issue and determined that current reports were ineffective. Developed automated reports to identify underperforming areas needing improvement. Significantly reduced costs and increased satisfaction by improving Service Center departure and arrival times.

Streamlining internal communications, improving productivity. Separate operating companies within FedEx Freight began working externally as one company, while maintaining internal separation. Transition resulted in shipments missing published transit times. Improved communications by upgrading departmental intranet web page into a portal with links to vital information for drivers and employees company-wide.

Allocating resources effectively. Company needed to allocate 1,200 new heavy duty tractors to 65 Service Centers and retire older units. Created report and tracking system to identify placement of units with regards to staffing and critical operations, as well as driver seniority. Increased driver morale and productivity.

Creating critical Intranet information site, increasing performance levels. During winter, weather caused triple trailers to be unreliable. Drivers left third trailers unsecured on roadsides, or missed opportunities by not running three trailers when conditions permitted. Developed intranet page to give dispatch staff instant access to most up-to-date information for road conditions, weather patterns, and satellite views.

Improving employee morale. Looking for ways to improve driver morale, drove program to have dispatch supervisors and payroll personnel sign and send birthday cards to long haul over-the-road drivers. Additionally, dispatchers would compliment drivers on good performance, and send thank you cards on noteworthy actions. Made driving staff feel more of a valued partner than an impersonal asset.
