Since being employed at Forest, MS, made use of technical drawings and schematics in the test/repair of F15 transmitter modules/unit assemblies. Proficient at fault isolation

which provides quick turn around repair of F15 transmitter units and modules. Configured and modified test equipment setups and procedures when identifying unknown failure causes in both F15 units and modules. Other areas work: F18 antenna test, microwave test, F18 unit as needed and F15/F18 receiver modules. The cooling systems for station test equipment are used for both ambient and environmental testing using quick disconnect hydraulic oil and pneumatic wave guide air, LN2 used during environment testing which has provided opportunity to learn about operation and repair of these systems.

Day to day operations require a technician to perform duties outside their normal scope of repairing modules. Examples of this condition can be found in the requirement of communicating specific work instructions for repair of modules; the need to assure a module is being repaired in a timely manner. These kinds of jobs are normally performed with minimal supervision and require working in an environment that requires addressing individual needs and paying attention to priority lists.

Senior Field Engineer employed by Omni Engineering (Pascagoula, MS)

Provided QA services, test procedure review, evaluation of electronic equipment modifications and observed electronic equipment functional operation on radar (SPS-49 and SPS-48); missile fire control (SEA Sparrow); underwater detection; IFF(UPX-29) and computer systems (UYK-43). In-service engineering support for installation of satellite communications equipment and radio communications equipment provided. Provided guidance and work instructions pertaining to combat system installations aboard amphibious ships under construction by ship builder.

Senior Planning Technician employed by Vitro (Tracor) Corp.

Provided technical support to US Navy for new construction on AEGIS deployed systems. Review technical documentation for incorporation into whole ship planning activities and provided ship test schedules. Supported AEGIS combat system test integration and provided liaison between ship builder and US Navy. Documented ship construction progress and provided guidance during construction phase as needed by US Navy and ship yard. Specifically coordinated construction/test effort on a daily basis.

Test Technician employed by Ingalls Shipbuilding (Northrop Grumman, Pascagoula, MS)

Technician aboard new construction ships built for US Navy. Performed installation/test in preparation of sea trial test demonstration to US Navy. In role as a test technician worked with analog, digital, RF circuits, counters, and AC/DC power supplies. Specifically work on SPG-60 air tracking radar integrated with a fire control (5”54cal) gun system; the close-in weapon (Phalanx) system, the SPQ-9 surface search/navigation radar; AEGIS Spy-1 multi-target and missile delivery system; IVCS (telephone system); radio comms and EWS (SLQ-32). Additional experience with radar systems aboard destroyers including SPS-49 air search radar and Sat Nav systems. Experience has been gain in areas of installation requiring interpretation of assembly drawings, technical drawings, and schematics. Performed cable repair/installations, wire wrap, terminal box (both for analog and digital as well as input power), antenna repair/install, and cooling system (dematerialized water) repair/installation in the area of electrical hook up.

Requirements of previous employments meant providing detailed reports to be written then passed on to managers. The reports entailed problems incurred and the methods used to determine cause of problem and recommended correction.

Work environment is based upon a team effort with each individual providing their own contribution. Many times tasks require only individual effort to accomplish the assigned job. Naturally, a technician will react to a stimulas which requires action to be taken without first contacting or requesting permission to correct problems that deal within his assigned area of responsibility.

As required have Sanitizied test equipment before removal as per desktop procedures.

Problem solving occurs often in the test environment and requires specific methods to be used so when required the events leading up to the problem or resolution can be duplicated.
